Israel sold weapons to Argentina at height of Falklands War

RE: Israel sold weapons to Argentina at height of Falklands War
The Argentine Navy had the (former) USS Phoenix in their fleet. Britain managed to sink it though.
The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.

Wasn't exactly a spring chicken at the time. Going by that kind of calculation, the Argentinians actually did better by sinking a Type 42 Guided Missile Destroyer, the Sheffield, and five other vessels.

Well, I was pointing out Argentina had hardware from most everyone.

I'd be surprised of Argentina didn't have British stuff too.

Yeah, but the Belgrano really wasn't top technology for the day and age. The Exocets on the other hand were. As were the Mirages. Not totally up to scratch, but still competitive.

And the Brits used 50 year old torpedoes to sink a nearly 50 year old ship.  Sporting of them, eh what?

They did. In fact the argentine navy had 2 of the very same type 42 class guided missile destroyers as the ill fated HMS Shieffield, which the argentines so celebratedly sank with French Exocet missiles.

Not when you fire a 50 year old torpedo out of a nuclear submarine that can out run the victim in a straight speed race.

Interesting. Under international law, arming an active combatant is considered an act of war.

No state of war had been declared.
