Victim Blaming?

The reason people don't like this response is because it's only used for rape. If I drink myself into oblivion and someone comes in my house, takes my keys, and steals my car not one single person will be like "well...I mean, I'm not saying it's you're fault...but you could have protected yourself if you weren't so drunk".

I don't think it's a statement only used for rape.

Drunk people are more vulnerable to lots of crime I don't think it's unheard of for people to be made awake of it.

People will have their phones hanging out of their pocket, or go over and start conversations with obviously violent aggressive people who they would normally avoid while sober.

I think there's loads of crimes where someone might say the victim shouldn't have drank so much but that's not to say it wouldn't be a callous thing to say though.

Are you ready for the fire? We are firemen. WE ARE FIREMEN! The heat doesn’t bother us. We live in the heat. We train in the heat. It tells us that we’re ready, we’re at home, we’re where we’re supposed to be. Flames don’t intimidate us. What do we do? We control the flame. We control them. We move the flames where we want to. And then we extinguish them.

Impersonation is treason.

Shitty metaphor is shitty. Wind is inevitable. If you leave for work and there's a gallon of gas on your lawn and a box of matches in your drive should you be charged for arson when someone else burns your house down?

It's always the rapists fault but rapists exist the same way people who steal exist.

I guess it's a tough topic though with a lot of complications.
I used to drink a fuck load when I was a teenager but then I'm not a woman, i imagine going out drinking as a woman is a whole other universe from my experience.

They aren't called sexual predators for nothing. If a young woman looks like the weak member of a herd, stumbling around, falling and laughing like an idiot....they have made themselves the target.

She might as well blame the sun for burning her skin for all the good it will do her.

People don't usually blame the victim when it's not rape though.

No matter what stupid irresponsible things you might ever do, it will never be your fault if someone else commits a crime against you.

If you tie yourself naked to a light post with a blindfold on, it will still not be your fault if someone hurts you. You might be an idiot for doing so, but the actions of the criminal are the criminal's own responsibility.

Ask me how many times I have raped a drunk person. Tell me how many times you have raped a drunk person? Rapists will rape. It's their crime. It's their fault. It's doesn't matter what their victim was or wasn't doing at the time.

This is the whole thing, telling people to be responsible is fine as long as you're not blaming them. But pretending no one ever does victim blaming is ridiculous and not helpful either.

So are human's that act like ravenous, amoral animals...because we are animals.

Just like I wouldn't walk out into the woods at night wearing a steak suit......crap I can't take this one off.
Scratch that, I'm not going to put myself in harms way by going to where the wolves are, looking like a hot snack.

But if I do go out dancing with wild animals, they will know I am watching them too without fear. I'm part electric eel and bombardier beetle with the capacity to shock the shit out of someone or douse them with noxious burning chemical spray should any of them try and mess with me. I'll have trained with them before hand and be very confident their use.

Lions are not big kitties, wolves are not big puppies and humans are the most cunning of all predators. Underestimate them at your own risk. The situation is more fundamental than party blaming.

Say I'm walking along some abandoned alley in a run down neighborhood and a man rushes me with a knife. Is the situation my fault for being there or his fault for being homicidal? Does it matter that he's an addict or starving or truly insane? NO. The only thing that matters is not getting stabbed by any means necessary and if there are things I can to lessen the risk of getting stabbed and/or capacitate the potential stabber, I will do them.

HUMANS. ARE. ANIMALS.

Underestimate the lethality of your environment at your own risk. Natural selection is ruthless.

"Please excuse.....too many blame. Victim, blame. Perpetrator, blame. Society, blame......no blame." ~Oda Nobutada

Blame is tangent to the sphere of relative information and completely outside the point of safely navigating the situation both prior and during a potential rape.

"It's the rapist's fault!" The actions required to reduce the risk of being raped are the same.
"It's the victims fault!" The actions required to reduce the risk of being raped are the same.
"It's society's fault!" The actions required to reduce the risk of being raped are the same.

Victimhood mind says "the rapist is to blame for raping!"
Nobutada samurai mind says "I will be prepared because they exist and the rapist will be severely injured and or dead for raping."

Listen, why don't you actually look up some statistics before you talk out of your ass? If I never drink a single drop of alcohol again for the rest of my life my reduced risk of being raped will be laughably insignificant.

RE: Victim Blaming?
Men are just wild animals and they can't help themselves. That's pretty fucking sexist by the way. Not to mention that it's bullshit. Men are not wild animals, men are not rapists, men are perfectly capable of controlling their sexual urges. Ask the men on this forum if they ever even have a desire to rape someone. Odds are, they don't.
