Ah I get ya.
I should note that I'm a little tipsy at the moment and I'm currently prone to error in spelling and gamma. So bare with me Tongue

A whole bottle of wine can do quite a bit.

Anyway, I do agree that natural doesn't nesseraly mean ok, it's just benifi...fici..benificua...(fuck it)...good for us.

Being an atheist says nothing about your overall intelligence, it just means you don't believe in god. Atheists can be as bright as any scientist and as stupid as any creationist.

You never really know just how stupid someone is, until you've argued with them.

Beneficial? Well, not even that every time. Sometimes there are harmful evolutionary by-products its just that the pros outweigh the cons. Evolution isn't perfection of course, it's just what happens to flourish.

I have a well balanced diet between fruit and meat. Meat has alot of protien which is essential for muscle gain. Also fish meat as they say are brain food. Called that for a reason. Meat like Mcdonalds burgers are not healthy. Since much of the meat is from parts of the animal which isn't normally eatern. Crap pretty much. But fresh natural meat like minted lamb (yum!) pork (lovely) and chicken (bloody nice) are all healthy foods for the body.
Nothing makes you stronger than a good lump of well cooked meat.

Once we get rid of the religious notion that man is a higher creation, with a soul, it's harder to justify badly treating other animals then painfully slaughtering them for our meals. Also, those who question religion are more likely to question the prevailing attitude towards our diets. It'd be interesting to see a study on whether there's a correlation. I myself am a pescetarian (I eat seafood, but no meat). Now, I'm not condemning anyone who isn't vegetarian; I'd just like to get people's thoughts on the matter.
Well, honestly, I tend to be of the opinion that a meal without chicken, beef, or bacon (especially bacon) is incomplete. My mother, due to getting the Mexican Flu last year, ended up becoming vegetarian, but this only made me stronger in my love of meat, and I even told her once (only half-jokingly) that I'd like to know what human flesh tastes like. Of course, I've heard that it's pretty much identical to veal.

Ace,

I agree with all the above hidden, I was just responding to your statement that natural=beneficial. Natural isn't always beneficial is all I was trying to add.

I thought it was like pork. Hence the nickname "longpig" for human meat.

Meat is overall my favourite food if anyone's wondering. And I love fish. My favourite food of all is duck.

Eating fish is NO different to eating meat!!! Fish is meat!

It's a question of ethics and not morals. I think it's ethically responsible to care about the welfare of sentient beings. On the same tack it'd be ok to eat human roadkill, if no one would be upset.

Since ethics is the study of morality, ethics is in that sense about morals.

Of course, if reality is amoral then organisms tend to do what they naturally do as long as they have the power to do it.

(Like humans.)
