RE: Metalheads Discussion
So what you think of it? Big Grin

I'd love an elaboration on your "Damn." Big Grin

Well quite the scenic route wasn't it. Had some really good instrumental stuff going on, I hear a lot of indie influences, which I like when it's heavy, but not so much when it isn't, so the song goes up and down for me, synth can be too overwhelming in places. There's some guitar stuff around the 3 minute mark I liked in particular, made me think of Mogwai for some reason.
I am John Cena's hip-hop album.

Damn.

Quote:Both bands are comprised of incredibly skillful musicians.

The first is emotionally flat and the second is... really something special. That's the difference. In theory anyone can learn to play well on the surface... but feeling is something that can't be learned. Either you feel the music or you don't.

Quite. Also the way in which 'metalness' is determined, more or less.

Yes and Pink Floyd had a baby.

I've always felt exactly the same way! A friend told me about transatlantic a while back because I once liked Dream Theater years ago, and after watching a live set online I thought bleach, nothing but technical wankery, horrible. It has the parts I now hate about DT (apart from LaBrie becoming unlistenable) turned to 11.

This is because you, like myself, recognize what it means to be a true appreciator of the art of sound rather than a mere 'music fan'.

I'll proudly wear the further misapplication of the NTS Fallacy directed against me like a badge too Big Grin

To those who react to music by shouting over it with how amazingly skilled and complex it all is while I'm trying to hear the actual music with my ears to determine whether it's actually any good my answer is "Well I can't hear it because you're shouting over it but in all likelihood it probably sounds like most of the over-produced shite you listen to."

Don't know what's 'core' about it.

From the Motionless in White Wikipedia article:

Quote:The band is described by AllMusic as a blend of metalcore, gothic metal and industrial metal. They have also been called "horror-metal."

You should check out some of their other songs.
