Oh, those were both fun moments. Coming out as atheist caused a long argument with my parents that they eventually never wanted to bring up again. Coming out as transgender got me entirely blacklisted. We don't talk anymore.

Yup, that's on them. I can survive without them. They seem to be having problems without me though. I'll let them figure it out in their own time.

How can you tell they're having problems w/o you? Do they attempt to communicate?

There have been attempts. Usually they aren't trying very hard to get along, though. I get most of my information from my brother, who is the best brother in the world.
