"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great

The wind now for me is all that is left but it is getting scary. I am in NC. And I hate that cliché "Hunkered down".

No one of any personal importance to me in the state, but I do hope the best for everyone affected.

I lived waaaaaay out in SWNC, in basically the Georgia/Carolinas tri-county. Kinda hilly out there. I reckon I'd have been safe.

RE: Hurricane Matthew
Power went out for about an hour and a half, back on now and the wind seems to have died down. The worst is over. Odd but the interior of my state got hit far worse. I guess that has alot to do with how it hit SC first before it came up to North Carolina.

RE: Hurricane Matthew
Closed on a house in Palm Coast on Sep. 19. Finished moving in the night befor it came by. Lost 20% of the screen over my pool and spent today clearing a cubic shitload of debris from my yard. All things considered, wry fortunate. Power hasn't yet been restored, but we occupy the time affectionately.
