Dear customers:
You don't know what you want. I know this, because I've been asking you and writing it all down for years. Perhaps you'd like to see your own inexplicably contradictory wishlists and whine-mail?
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!
I find it really weird that people can be shitty to retail workers, don't know whether its because they are generally low paid and the customer feels like they are 'above' them somehow. That makes me more likely to be respectful, and if there is a problem, e.g. with service, I'm more likely to blame the manager than take it out on a worker on the shop floor.
You couldn't really call the people I deal with customers, not like they have a choice, but I've never had anyone be disrespectful to me, even in the face of having to unexpectedly pay tens of thousands, or hundreds of thousands, or, on occasion, millions of pounds, or potentially facing criminal sanctions. At least, not to my face. I do also make a point of calling out the manager to praise a worker when I've had good service oo, in addition to tipping for food service (which is not as customary in the UK). If you don't like customers, don't work in retail.
If you can't get out of retail, maybe you're really upset with yourself.
Hehehe, I love customers, especially their wallets, I just don't like managing them. Definitely didn't know what I was getting into on that count. You know that point when you feel that you have a fairly specific product, and that people know what they want when they find you, the idea that, that....at least, has already been handled or will take care of itself? lol.
