The consciousness "dies" virtually every night in the non-dreaming phase of sleep.  If souls exist, why can't they keep our consciousness going 24/7?

Consciousness is also dependent on certain brainwave states, and a dead brain produces no brainwaves at all.

Your judgement come from the false knowledge that the consciousness is only what we can perceive.
Didn't I explained how the consciousness is not only what we can perceive but also what we are
unable to perceive.

The iceberg provide the typical example.

The above part is visible.
The below part is not.
The consciousness is the same.
The conscious mind is visible while the unconscious mind is not.

Just go in most of Asia country where there are Buddhists.
All they do is to go in the temple, light an incense stick pray to Buddha for material wealth or physical
health and that's it.
Nothing really to do with Buddha yoga that is why atheism in Buddhism is just a farce.  Lightbulb

Actually, that is why Buddhism is a farce.  Atheism is just fine.

And whether you believe it or not, there are atheist Buddhists.

Why should I give serious consideration to something that has no credible supporting evidence at all?  I believe that My judgment is as accurate as it needs to be for the time being.

Unsupported assertion.  Until otherwise demonstrated, "consciousness-energy" is not a separate category of energy.  Consciousness is an effect caused by the electrochemical signalling that occurs in a living brain, and when those electrochemical processes are terminated by death of the body, consciousness also terminates.  The energy in the body system at the time of death simply dissipates into the environment as the body cools, decays, or otherwise changes form.

Wrong again Astreja.  Shake Fist

You find plenty of evidence every single day.
When we think of something we do so because the idea does not come in our mind straight away.
So where do you think it come from Astre?
It come from the subconscious mind which is the hidden conscious.
The subconscious mind is like a mine of gold.
Everything that there is to know is there but only few people are able to get the gold out.
Most of us only get the crumbs because our mind is not trained and strong enough to be able to dig the gold.
Even genius like Einstein had to think and think before the theory of relativity pop up in his mind
from the inner mind or subconscious mind.  Lightbulb

If Buddha or Christ could see these folks which call themselves atheists Christians or Buddhist
they would throw up straight away.  Panic

No questions about it mate.
That is why I said that is farce. Indubitably

Actually Buddha and Christ would throw up even in seeing most of today so called Christians and Buddhist that have absolutely nothing to do with their teachings.  Lightbulb
