LMAO, sorry, that must have been my toddler. Still more coherent than Ricky's shit posts though.

Why would I have to "knock down" some silly-ass belief?  It's mere hypothesis until otherwise demonstrated, and it isn't My job to defend other people's hypotheses.

Prove that you have "a direct relationship with God" and not just a direct relationship with your own imagination.  Do us a miracle, something that defies the laws of physics.

I took him off ignore because the ignore feature sucks. I can still see people quote him and not only that but I can also see his posts in the preview posts section before I post.

That sucks but oh well there isn't really an alternative, that's as good as the ignore feature gets. I didn't know quite what it was like because this is literally the first time i ever used it.

I'll just ignore the pisswit mentally and if I feel like responding to his drivel to amuse myself then so be it.

P.S. Thanks for the kudos though LFC! Great to see ya! You glad I stayed on AF? [emoji2] [emoji178]

Buddha was very smart and intelligent.
He knew that the best way to show the God within to the people of that age was for the people to discover this God for themselves.
By teaching yoga to these people they would get there anyway.  Lightbulb

Theological imperialism on display here. "Your god is really my god."

I believe if you do nice things for people, it'll come back to you. And if you do bad things to people, it'll come back to you. At least if you live long enough. I don't think it's something like "Bob killed someone, so Bob is punished by Karma by getting into a horrible accident." I think it's more like.. "Bob's an asshole. Eventually people learn that Bob is an asshole, and nobody wants to deal with Bob's shit anymore. Fuck Bob. Fuck Bob with a rusty rake."

A phrase I've been using for a couple of decades: "I believe in karma; in three words, 'assholes make enemies'."

As I see it, that's what lies at the root of the "karma" illusion.
  • Good people generally (but not always) find people to help them when they're in a tight spot because they've made friends who are willing to reciprocate.
  • People who make a habit of behaving badly generally (but not always) will lose friends and be distrusted.  Occasionally they may find themselves playing the role of useful idiot to someone even worse, which may provide them with a few perks that make it appear that they're not getting their just deserts.  If the head asshole crashes, though, the underlings may also suffer an epic fail.

Quote:There are Buddhist refutations of the different schools of Hindu philosophy, including Yoga and Vedanta, and a rejection of Hindu deities like Shiva and Krishna. There are similar Yoga-Vedantic refutations of the different schools of Buddhist philosophy, including the rejection of the omniscience of Buddha, criticism of the Buddhist view of the mind, and so on.

Buddhist scriptures themselves, both Mahayana and Theravadin, contain refutations of the Atman, Brahman, Ishvara, and the key tenets of Yoga and Vedanta, which are regarded as false doctrines. Note the Lankavatara Sutra, which is very typical in this regard. Refutation of Buddhist teachings does not occur in Hindu scriptures, which are largely pre-Buddhist but are common in the later literature. Many Vedantic, Sankhya and Yoga texts contain refutations of Buddhist doctrines, particularly those of the four classical schools of Buddhist philosophy, which are similarly regarded as untrue. Such criticism of Buddhist teachings occur in the main commentaries on the Yoga Sutras, that of Vyasa, and are common in Advaita or non-dualistic Vedanta.

Wherever you are getting your information from, it appears that historical Buddhism was unaware of it. Where are you getting this information from?
