The positive case for voting Hillary Clinton for president.

The positive case for voting Hillary Clinton for president.
We all know good reasons not to vote for Trump.  Unless you're a vile, hateful human being or just entirely deluded, we know why you don't want to vote for that guy.  Just heard the Louis C.K. interview on O'Brien and I think he really makes a good case why people should vote for her.

That's a really good case? I'd hate to see a bad one.

Well, I wouldn't really say it's a good case, but it is funny.

IDK, laying aside the jokes and "because she's a girl".... his positive case for Hillary was, in effect, that she was a smart, talented and well practiced political operator.

While I can understand where he's coming from, and agree completely, it's -also- the reason some people -won't- vote for her.  We might imagine that talent and smarts means she has what it takes...they're definitely pros, but looking at what she's applied them to isn't exactly comforting. Yesd, yes, we all knw about her marquee efforts, the ones she spends her time endlessly hawking, but that;s a tiny fraction of what she's sponsored and signed off on, and the real work of govrnment hasn;t beeen done in the light of those popular and politically expedient things to which we're constantly treated as theater.

I'd rather vote for Louis C.K. than any of the people who have run. At least he's not crazy enough to want the job, which is a good start.

Yeah, apparently people that are tired of voting for the lesser of two evils and refuse to participate in a corrupt system are dickheads.

Who knew that keeping the integrity of your principles made you an asshole? That's news to me.

Our refusal exposes their complicity.... it's just a reflexive defense response, lol.

It robs them of the "well, I have to vote for one of them, so I have to pick x". Uh, no, you don't have to. You want to, you're willing to. So cry in your drinks when the shit gets predictably shittier, but not to me...I had nothing to do with it.

So was Nixon.

I like Louis C.K., but let's just take a step back and remember that this guy is a comedian. His bit was funny, but if you take it seriously you're not going to convince anyone with the arguments he made.

His argument, taken seriously, was sexist and seriously misinformed regarding the reasons people don't like Clinton. People aren't not voting for her because they don't like her voice, they're not voting for her because she is dishonest and people don't like that.

Taken seriously, his statement "if you don't vote for anyone you're an asshole" is just ignorant. An election is about voting for the person who you want to be President. That's it. If there aren't any candidates that you want as your President, well, then you don't have to vote for any of them. That's how our democracy works, and it's a good thing.
