RE: Obama "Give Trump a Chance".......
I understand the frustrations being expressed. Look, I did not vote for Obama in either 2008 or 2012, but I respect that man a great deal. He put up with a lot and held office with dignity, I respect that. I don't agree with a lot of his policies, but the man respected the title and this country. Trump is our new President. I did not vote for him and I do not respect the rhetoric that he used to help win him the election. However, he did win. I have no choice but to give him a chance. I honestly don't know what people wanted President Obama to say. Should he have called for a revolution, civil war, demand the citizens march on Washington and overthrow this man? Obama went out with dignity and grace and showed respect.

Dave Willis said, "Show respect to people who don't even deserve it, not as reflection of their character, but as a reflection of yours." I do not have to like Trump or agree with him but I respect the position of Commander in Chief and give him a chance to prove he wants to bring people together and vote him out in 4 years if he fails to do so.

I will say, I want nothing more than to be able to happily and enthusiastically say I was wrong about my expectations for Trump, and if he turns out to be any sort of net positive for the nation (hell, I'll take a flat neutral) then I'd be pleased as punch compared to my starting point. I have to give Trump a chance because I have no choice.

Exactly FandF, we have no choice.  He is now President-elect and we need to see what he does from here.

I'm just a deplorable.

You aren't.  He's a man with no principles and no clue.

In the Los Angeles Daily News of today, (print, I couldn't find this article on line) page 9-

Headline- "Cracks Emerge in Trump's Promise on Immigration":

"Donald Trump's tough-talking plan to rein in illegal immigration showed signs Sunday of cracking, with the president-elect backing off his vow to build a solid wall along the U.S. southern border and House Speaker Paul Ryan rejecting any "deportation force" targeting people in the country illegally...

With any luck at all that 13-year old's rape will net him time in the hoosegow (rich people don't end up, there, I know).

I agree with this completely and can also say I did not vote for Obama either time, and did not vote for Trump.
"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."
