Trump on 60 Minutes

RE: Trump on 60 Minutes
I'm definitely not "left of center". I just try to be fair and objective, whatever side that puts me on.
"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."

I think lately there are more threads about Trump than there are about Atheism.

The sources to watch out are those that claim to be unbiased. NPR, CNN, NYT and all the rest are deluding themselves and not to be trusted uncritically. At least FOX anchors and talk radio hosts know what they are.

So Fox gets a pass because they know they're biased, even though their tagline is "fair and balanced." Makes sense.

Let me ask you another question. If you're so up in arms about bias in the media, what do you personally do to minimize it? Or are you really only concerned about bias that doesn't pander to your view?

I think Hannity and O'Rielly are pretty aware of their bias. Hannity more so. By way of contrast, NPR is totally oblivious.

Then pull your head out of your ass, and I'll repeat them.

What is Trump going to do to avoid the problems that caused Bush's wall to fail?  How is his going to be different?  Hint:  there are a lot more problems than funding to overcome.

And secondly, are you fine with the fact that the government is going to have to appropriate private citizens' land to build it?

SERIOUSLY??? Do I really need to unravel that enigma for you?

I forgot that you think being desperate enough to escape violent third-world conditions by crossing a deadly desert as a crime, sorry.

Just pointing out that they're not actually sending us their murderers and rapists.

Then you're dumber than you let on. O'Reilly calls his show the "No spin zone" for fuck's sake.

Nice job on completely avoiding the question about what you do to minimize bias BTW.

Maybe it's just the fact that I'm a documented immigrant, so I fully understand the costs of coming to America legally, but can someone explain why deporting people who are here illegally is a bad thing?

It took a lot of time and money for me to finally get to live with my American wife. If people are skirting around those requirements, I don't really have much sympathy for them.

It think it's not a black and white, either or issue.

There are many things to consider. Such as when they actually came. How long they actually lived and worked there without having filed the necessary paperwork. Do they have kids already born there, are they integrated? Is anyone prepared to seperate them from their kids, who already are citizens by birthright.

That's the same for every country. Someone bawling about deporting all of them without looking at their background simply doesn't do the homework and only responds to popular demand. There's also another thing to consider. They usually do the jobs nobody else is willing to do. Such as toiling the fields for a pittance, scrubbing the toilets, cleaning the offices, being orderlies. Someone has to do these jobs or the infrastructure breaks down. So what's next? Enforced labor for the unemployed?
