I don't think it is necessarily a matter of being too easy going. If you fight her on it, it likely won't change her mind but it may well push her away and out of your life. Very sad though.

I agree that confronting her won't work, at least not in the short run, these groups practise the necessary psychological innoculation against that, as in scientology's idea that someone who criticises the group must by necessity have committed crimes and probably is a Suppressive Person, and contact with SPs leads to disease and accidents, so you need to not listen for your own safety. These cults all have their own version of that.
