How sad that people fell for his shit. Dude has the ego of a twelve year old boy.
I don't know how many times I can repeat this. THE TWO PARTIES ARE NOT THE SAME.
Learn to separate politics from the politicians from the individual voter.
REAGAN started the age of deregulation, not democrats. In that 36 years of GOP gerrymandering they have created a monopoly of power NOT THE PRESIDENT OFFICE, but in congress. If you look at that 36 year period the majority of power ON AVERAGE has been GOP controlled. Add to that the GOP lopsided majority of State governments and Governors in that same period, that forces our politicians to compromise, which is what we have done far too much of. And our voter apathy in local and state elections AS VOTERS also has not helped.
Hillary is only 1 person, not the entire history of our government in that 36 year period.
AS VOTERS only, we are on the right side of history. We understand that better pay for workers and lower cost of living creates that independence that makes individuals less dependent on gov. We understand that health care isn't a luxury and everyone will get sick sooner or later. We don't think higher education should turn someone into an indentured slave.
So, the only difference is how do we fix that? If we cut taxes for the uber rich, some seem to forget when we do that the rest of us have to compensate for that. So it would seem more cost effective that if business owners don't want gov on their back, then the best charity would be directly giving better pay to all workers. But if all the GOP is going to do is gut investment to pay for rich individuals and corporations who end up doing nothing but banking that money, someone has to step in to protect the other classes.
Our problem as progressives is that we suck at our local and state turnout and we also suck at our messaging, but outside that at best our politicians can only be accused of being too compromising.
If Reagan's failed trickle up economics really worked nobody would bitch. It really isn't that different with any other life or ecosystem. When other life gets stressed out it lashes out. When other life becomes invasive it harms all the other species in that ecosystem. But for the right or the third party morons who think "yea you can smoke pot and get gay married" is all there is to economics, you are morons.
Revolutions worldwide in our species history always start for the same reason, the population that attempts it is simply stressed out. What is not a given in any revolution, is if the outcome will end up in a more free society or a more closed society. The same economic angst that lead to the American Revolution is the same economic angst that lead to the Russian revolution.
I am quite sure that if the North Korean population got to a critical mass because of all their abuse and mass starvation, if they could they most certainly would gun for Un. Just because we in the west don't have that same political system does not mean we should make our western economics a race to cheap labor.
The economic history is in for the past 36 years. ONLY 1 party has had the majority of power and only 1 party has the majority of states and governors. And while Trump wants to say Bernie is a populist too, only one between the two really cares.
It is an absolute myth that liberals hate the private sector, we only hate the abuse and the monopolies. If corporations want individuals to be more independent, then they need to stop paying poverty wages and start paying more taxes.
