The moral of the story: No matter what, don't fuck with that Yahweh thug. If you do, you just had it coming anyway.
Nice.

I guess you could blame God but that would be misguided as you're blaming him for what are the consequence of his goodness... the bad stuff that happens when you act contrary to that. Yeah it's tough but it does you no good rebelling because of your crappy situation.
So clearly God is not at fault here. Any more?
And the first born of Israel had done what crime? Lot had done nothing wrong when god set him on a path of suffering because he was feeling capricious, or jeptha who had to sacrifice his daughter. You have to abandon intellect time and again if you set about trying to justify it. Marcian had a more coherent strategy for dealing with this.

fr0d0 what you are doing is called minimizing, and in this case it has to do with your gods responsibility for his actions. If my daughters misbehave I can ground them or take away something that they love temporarily, but I would never consider killing them. God could have handled this differently, and no matter how you spin it the end result is his decision and he holds full responsibility for it.
It's like a wife beater who tries to justify his beating his wife down to a bloody pulp by making such stupid statements like "if she would not have pushed me I would not have punched her in her face. He is shifting the blame for his actions on the victim as you are doing with your defense of God and his evil and immoral actions.

That would be to look at the subject without understanding it lrh9. I think if you make accusations you should be prepared to look into the subject properly.
@ Chatty: it's over simplistic to blame God for evil.
