I'd rather not spiritual, then...
The fool hath said in his heart, There is a God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.

I think spirituality is really experientiality-- the search for new experiences, the attempt to touch parts of your mind you might not have access to. It's not without merit in that sense-- certainly if you meditate a lot, if you do various rituals, if you focus the mind on certain ideas, you will have the chance to have many experiences you might not have.
It's when you start making attributions of fact-- "I went into Bob's body and began the spiritual battle that will eventually cure his cancer"-- that it must be utterly condemned.

Posted something similar in a past topic, but I think "spirituality" means a lot of different things to a lot of different people. Spirituality to me is a way to be feel more connected with the universe, in a way that examines the things that we already know to be true. It's sort of like looking at the world with a pair of glasses that provides better clarity, while organized religions and some pseudo-science "spiritual" things are trying to design glasses that show you things that are not there. The Tao (the "way") is all about the natural flow of everything; if you better understand that, you'll flow much easier, and you'll be happy. That last bit sounds generic... I'm not great at describing it. But I'm slowly becoming more spiritual in this way. I think it's had a positive impact on my personality and outlook on life
I'm still unsure what OP thinks though. They have not been too clear

@ Aegon..i do like what you say here...for that matter...i do like different opinions...
i am not a fellow who is into yoga or meditation..it is more a discovery within ourself...
when i travelled in 1971 overland io India i talked to lots of freaks..
who wanted to seek spirituality in the mysticism of India..
some clever gurus took huge profits of in my eyes misleading the Western mind into Eastern philosophy or way of thinking..
look at Rajneesh(Osho)and so many others..they made spirituality commercial..which i think is wrong..
just a general link on spitituality..could be interesting on this topic..

The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.

I'm still totally unclear on what you think spiritualism is.
If it's just a name for certain types of actions, attitudes and experiences that we already have names for and understand, then that's fine. I don't see the point in such a label, but if it makes you happy, then cool.
I want to know if spiritualism is meant to be anything further than this, and if so, what. There always seems to be the implication that there's something that can be gained through this that isn't available to your average nob head like me who just does regular things like mindfulness/meditation, and seeks truth and experiences wherever they are. But it never seems to be anything real or testable; just things that could easily be replicated in other ways but which are held by the person to be somehow magical.

i see what you mean,Rob...as i told before i am not into yoga,meditation..i got my doubts about karma..
to me..when i die..it's over..whether my soul goes to heaven or anywhere else..I would not have a clue
for me spirituality means discovering human values..like positivity..trying to eliminate negativity in myself, others, the whole world..
I believe conversation, communication is important in life..either on a forum..but even more face to face
spirituality is just such a vast subject that in a lot of your answers..i neither see what you all mean about being spiritual..
i was going to put links..but since i am a newbie it's into the 30/30 rule violation..sorry i did not notice that in one of my postings...

Again, what do you believe is your soul?
