That's the norm Min I would not expect any less.
There is nothing people will not maintain when they are slaves to superstition

A scene from the mini series 'Merlin' (the 1998 one starring Sam Neil) has just popped into my head:

There is a final confrontation with the evil goddess Queen Mab. The problem was solved when Merlin and all the people literally turned their backs on Mab and stopped believing in her. She lost her power and simply faded away, ceasing to exist.

Of course, the tragic irony is that Mab was replaced by Christianity. I guess part of the moral is to be careful for what you wish.Angel Cloud

You should have seen it before Vatican 2,it was much worse.I kid you not.Ratty was there. Vatican 2 accomplished some very gratifying long term damage to the Church, and arguably began the inevitable process of destabilisation and decline of the whole rotten edifice..

Quote:The Second Ecumenical Council of the Vatican, or Vatican II, was the twenty-first Ecumenical Council of the Catholic Church. It opened under Pope John XXIII on 11 October 1962 and closed under Pope Paul VI on 8 December 1965. To date four future pontiffs took part in the council's opening session: Cardinal Giovanni Battista Montini, who on succeeding Pope John XXIII took the name of Paul VI; Bishop Albino Luciani, the future Pope John Paul I; Bishop Karol Wojtyła, who became Pope John Paul II; and Father Joseph Ratzinger, present as a theological consultant, who became Pope Benedict XVI.[1][2]

Dawkins recently suggested kind of the same thing.

http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/comment...094310.ece

But since then the Government has moved to limit the chances of that happening.

I would love to have seen that happen though, ideally a citizens arrest by Dawkins himself resulting in a proper old man brawl.

When will it collapse, when? It is a tumor to society! As is any other form of mythology than people practice. How many generations will it take!Angry This is one of THE ONLY things in the world that makes me angry!

Every human civilisation and institution is temporary. Each eventually collapses, from internal corruption and decadence, from redundancy, external trauma,or a combination. Christianity is only 2000 years old and large cracks are already appearing.

The Egyptian religion lasted over 3000 years. Christianity in all of its diverse flavours WILL eventually disintegrate, perhaps slowly, over centuries..It is to be hoped that the obscene absurdity and irrelevancy which is the Catholic Church will be the first to go.

Sorry, I don't make short term predictions.Tongue.
