No. He's not as bad as Micheal Bay, but he's certainly no Steven Spielberg.
I was not thrilled with what he did with the first Star TreK, however, I am not unhappy he rebooted it, because the 3rd one feels like it's getting back on track and I look forward to new ones under other directors.
Star Wars TFA has its problems (Hint: it wasn't the girl that was the main problem!), but I still enjoyed it WAAAY more than episodes I, II or even III. And I am also happy to see more new Star Wars stories. At least it isn't the 3rd remake of Spider Man in a decade! If they keep doing new and not remakes, I'm open to giving each one a chance.
Exactly. You know better.
I'm not about to hate on Force Awakens or his Star Trek films, but I also ultimately don't think they're worth defending. They're commercial products made to pander to as many as possible (hence the female lead w/ black supporting role) to turn a profit before the end of the opening weekend.
I am John Cena's hip-hop album.

Hey now, I'm old enough that I saw Empire in the theater. Kids, pfft.
LOL, I saw Star Wars - back when it was just Star Wars, no New Hope, no Ep.IV - at the theater in 1977 when I was ten. Good times.

Yes, they are commercial products, like many other fun and even good films. It's not like everything he does is shit, lol.
I'm glad you aren't hating on them though.

Yeah, the "Enhanced" release of Ep.IV was just awful. The scene with Jabba and Han Solo was particularly terrible.
P.S. Han shot first.

(I have the original trilogy in this despecialized version, which I reencoded to take "only" ~2GB per movie... it's only 720p, after all. I may make it available on request )

Yeah... There are no words to describe the last two TNG movies. I enjoyed #8 and #9 though.

Insurrection? Isn't that the one where Picard deliberately murders a guy?

OMG, I may have to take you up on that! I used to have the unenhanced version, but my first husband took it with him when we divorced (he took all my movies, even my disney stuff, the bastard).
