Thank you for the history "lesson", A Theist lol.
I was commenting on the idea of mutually assured destruction with the use of nuclear weapons, a concept that didn't exist 75 years ago. We'll be toast.
But you seem to be quite eager to show us all your knowledge on other issues. Go on then, I won't stand in your way.

1-Peaceful bystander or not the dropping the nukes on cities was wrong and was not the only strategy on the table .And by the time the nukes were used Japan was in ruins and it's capacity to live up to it's bluff of death to the end was just that a bluff . I suggest reading Yoshijirō Umezu memoirs of the last days it clearly shows Japan was finished.
2- Who the hell cares if it was a democrat or not why would you even bring that up ?
3- Who said Japan was innocent and what school did you go to that says it was ?
4- Atrocities do not justify atrocities
5- Blame America first last I checked you were the only ones with a nuke who should we blame ?
6- Are you honestly arguing that America had no role in starting the war in the pacific that's absurd ?

If we don't agree democracies, however managed, are inherently better with having nukes, (if any one is going to have them), than theocracies are, well, that is going to be an impasse.

Putting a soverign nation on notice? Is that like putting them on double secret probation? I assume that Trump , with his little manicured hands and medical deferment for heel spurs, is going to be quite generous with the lives of sons and daughters other than his own. Fortunate sons are often generous with the lives of unfortunate sons and daughters.

Realistically, I should be blaming Obama. Several years ago the sanctions he had in place were working, apparently too well for his comfort level and he loosened them with nothing in return.
And here we are.
