Then perhaps you should accept the fact that many humans have a natural inclination to believe in something greater. I would except for the fact that I want to destroy religion in whatever diminutive way that I can. Whether it is just being openly atheist or refuting bullshit religious ideas, I'm happy to try to change things for the better. So, perhaps I begrudgingly accept that that's human nature, because if I didn't accept it then I would be wrongly assuming I could change the minds of so many blithering people.

Boru I've said my piece about this. Read my last two posts if you're concerned with what I have to say.
Jesus wuvs you.

OP: Emotionally labile also. You should be some kind of fun.

Lately, I have found myself having more intolerance toward fellow atheists.
Not due to them being atheists, but rather due to their ignorance in other areas of life.

I've never been fond of evangelist atheists, and your rant, Trees, has only reinforced that distaste.
Never a good thing to nurture hate. How's that working out for you?

Religious people don't bother me for the most part, they have just believe in something different then me. There are different levels of course, I get along fine with your normal everyday person that just goes to worship, believes, and finds comfort in their faith. Imposing your belief as the only belief, and how you do that through actions is the only thing that bothers me.

No they're not. No one is responsible for the thoughts they think. Control of thought is impossible.

I don't hate them for the most part. I honestly could not give a single shit what other people believe...
Until..
They step into the voting booth and make a concerted effort to vote in "public servants" who will enact policies that impact all people based on their beliefs. That is when I have a strong distaste for my fellow religious humans. A good example of "Christian" policy is the environment. They are so confident that their god is in complete and utter control that there is nothing that we humans can do to impact the environment in any meaningful way. Therefor, we have no need for environmental regulations. Pollute and populate away.
Abortion.. Science.. Acceptance of all races, beliefs (or non beliefs), sexual equality, right to die, etc.. These are all things that are impacted by laws due to religious persons wanting to force their worldview on everyone.

I don't think so.
"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."
