But that's not how economy works these days, isn't it. Pay less, sell cheaper is the slogan. People have become so accustomed to buy the cheapest products that they don't notice anymore. And it's a vicious circle. The less people have in their wallets, the cheaper the goods have to be.

That's not even remotely related. They are cheaper, yet not to the point of them being affordable to everyone. Just one example. Only ten years ago, I had to have a thousand to buy a half decent computer. Today I only need 300. Add to this inflation and you get the picture.

People indebt themselves because they don't want to be seen not to follow the latest hype. They're not indebting themselves over everyday goods.

Many goods certainly are cheaper, but interest rates are also loweR. Hence for the low income, lowly educated, skill deficit, gullible, right wing radio addicted and expectation enhanced trump voters can Indulge in the illusion of maintaining a certainty standard of living well beyond what could have been earned by their true productivity by borrowing to buy what is already cheap.

Its always heartwarming to read these threads where people with no background in economics nor any experience running a business and keeping profitable have all the solutions to economic problems. And its amazing how often those solutions seem to involve some form of just pay your employees more and problem solved.
