I edited in the meantime. For starters, you don't end up in the gutter when falling ill in Canada. Nor do you in Europe.

For the ordinary worker there's not much of an argument there. I would love to see you dispute this, since for starters people don't end up in the gutter when falling ill in Canada.

Let Mr O fight his own battles. What the hell do you actually know about their health care? Have you lived it? I know as little as you do, but here.

This about the UN, not the USA.

Canada the prize, USA the shit hole. Your constant diatribe is getting old. Or are you just stuck and this is all you can talk about?

1. I'm well aware of what the thread is about I was refuting KUSA denials that republicans are not more spend thrift  then democrats when it comes tax dollars

2. I already talked about my countries problems in detail

http://atheistforums.org/thread-47970.html

I was going to do 50 problems at first but I thought it was a bit much .And I was planning on doing a thread of 30 on Ottawa alone (homelessness ,drugs ,mental illness , elder abuse ) so the idea I see my country as perfect is absurd.

3. I talk about American problems because they tend to become Canadian problems . I don't talk about Canadian problems because they don't tend to attract much attention .

Having lived in the Canadian health system most of my life this is false most wait times are low though of course there are exceptions and were lowering them all the time . And do I need to point out the number of Americans who come here rather then America for healthcare  . Again is it perfect nope does it work yup

Hmmm, send money to crisis area and have it all go to the warlords instead of the victims and get a warm fuzzy feeling for doing jack shit, or not sending any money and feeling like an asshole for not doing anything . . . .

Yup and the Australian healthcare system and the German healthcare system

Germany is number 1

Canada and Australia are tied for 2

Then 3 In North Carolina

This is just based on systems I have used (for all I know Mongolia's might be the best in the world)

Germany - fastest, least complicated, Best doctors in terms of knowledge and being helpful

Australia - Nicer Hospital then at home . Just below Germany in the above

America - If I don't have something nice to say

bold mine

Fare enough. I only have direct experience with the US and depend on other people's stories. My sister has little good to say about Canada healthcare, but that another discussion about access and efficiency if you have non resident status. (4 years in Calgary while her husband worked for Shell).

The bold: That is at the heart of the matter. The constant negatives about the US get old, at least for me. Yeah, the US may not be the best at all things, it has flaws, not perfect. That being said, I think (hope) you'd admit, in part, that the US must get a lot of things right also.

And here is what rubs me wrong, this forum seems to have more than it's fair share of US haters (maybe hater is to strong, but it's close). So now the question I would pose is why? Does the forum population give equal time to Canada is shit because....., Austria is shit because......, Britain is shit because......

Or is this more a case of sour grapes? Is it more personally fulfilling for people (you, abaris, Mr Abba, Min, to name a few) to run things down than to prop things up. Personally, I can't be that person. Well I can, but I don't like it and would prefer not to. What do you (the collective) prefer and do your posts support your preference?

Ah Alberta that doesn't suprise me then . There strict  on non residence. Remember heathcare  rules vary  from province to province

Of course I  agree  America gets more right then wrong . It's  the most  powerful  and advanced nation on the  face of the earth i think that says it all.

I only dare speak for myself . I don't hate America but i am worried about it . Because  it's the giant next door .If  it  winds up failing the consquences would be too terrible  to think about . Maybe that's why when it does mess up i get hyper critical in a way i would not for other nations .
