My wife's niece arrived here and bought a house across the street, she has 1 child with her, and is a single mom, but also a bi-sexual too, now, my stepson has been a religious freak for many years, today his wife bought over the 3 grand-kids, the oldest being 13, the grand-kids mom dropped off the kids and the 2nd oldest told the little girl "when you move into your house we are not allowed to play with you unless you're here with grandpa and grandma", as a result of this my wife called her son and was immediately told "our religion says that same sex relationships is a sin, and I DON'T want MY kids anywhere around it, I don't care if she is family or not, MY kids will NOT be coming round again until this sinner is at least 5 states away from you, and because you didn't join our church YOU are to blame for this not US, and being married to that ATHEIST (me), will only break up the family".

Do ya'll see how these f%^#ked up pieces of religious s#$t use emotional blackmail to break up families.

I had to take the kids back home, but during that time, she took an overdose of pills, and is now in hospital, my stepson wouldn't talk to me, but told the nurse, "when she wakes up, tell her, you only have yourself to blame."

This all seems a bit one sided to me. over the top escalation on the outset challenge, for oppositions side. and straight up unprovoked victim hood for the home team. yeah, not likely.

If religion was the reason for their manipulation, what is the reason for yours? How are you now a better person than your religious step son?

Look a here sport. Your "religious douche son" already knew everything he told you two before your wife called, yet He still went against his better judgement and let the grand kids come over. He struggled and prayed about what to do, and putting his strong religious beliefs aside He put his children in POTENTIAL Spiritual Harm's way.

(swallow/save that pride down for a few more lines as you are really going to need it to lash back at all the hyprocrisy I'm about to dump back on to you.)

Also know all of this (his sister was gay, you're a heathen, and what the bible says about it) He is STILL Playing nice with the family, till mom calls up and self righteously unloads/confrontsnthe son... Now from his POV it is not enough to play nice. now the heathen has warped my mom's mind into thinking I have to accept the heathen she is married to, and what my sister does, and throw away what I believe for the sake of family unity... Hence His response. (As again it is rare if ever does one just unprovoked start out with an over the top like you described)

The family was used by bothsides, the son simply stated he chose God over the healthy stable fair house hold you offer.

Seeing as I have no idea how this quote thing works, I'll just do my own quoting and replies:-

1..........Drich quoted "If religion was the reason for their manipulation, what is the reason for yours? How are you now a better person than your religious step son?",,,,Answer = Common sense, I don't need to be lead like sheep, or believe in a fantasy where everything is supposed to be handed to one on a platter, (I'll quote something else relevant to the last statement in a few).

2..........Drich quoted "This all seems a bit one sided to me. " It would, you're a Christian and know nothing else.

OK, here's the quote taken from what's supposed to be from Psalm 22:-

"The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want." shepherds lead sheep, sheep follow shepherds, if the shepherd were to jump of a cliff, the sheep would follow, and WE are NOT sheep,    "I shall not want", oh dear it looks like that statement says it all, you don't *want* anything because one can just sit and everything is provided, a house is built magically around you, a wife suddenly appears and you're already married, then you magically appear in a job that lasts for years,,,,, if you religious nuts believe in all this fantasy, then you need professional help to return to reality.

"He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters",,,,,,well that just shows how religion is a form of dictatorship, and again, "leadeth me,"meaning to follow like sheep.

As I said previously,,, it's only because of the spoken form of communication that we humans are able to manipulate others into believing what we want others to believe through fear, and not allow them to think for themselves, animals don't know religion, but if animals were to talk, then those religious nuts would coerce them too.

I am sorry to hear of these events in your life, a lot of heavy stuff going on.

I wish I had some sage advice to offer but I can only imagine anything I say would fall short.

I hope you are able to mend some of those fences in time and enjoy an intimate and rewarding relationship with your family, especially your children and grandchildren.

It's kind of ironic that any religious groups tend to be fairly focused, given that Jesus didn't give a lick about who people were blood related to. Even disrespected his own mother because he was too busy talking to his friends. Maybe Joshua should have chased him down the street with a rod for that.

Imagine all the crap we would have been spared if his parents followed OT guidelines and had the disrespectful little prick stoned to death at the edge of town...

Seeing how Mary wasn't biologically Jesus's mother, it kinda makes the "OT guidelines" irrelevant.

Not sure what you mean.

Anyway, Just as Jesus's birth didn't require any sperm it also didn't require an egg, he was created in the womb of Mary (essentially making her a surrogate) and had no biological connection to Mary, hence why he never referred to her as 'mother' but called her 'woman'.

If he was in her womb and she needed to give birth to him, even without "biological components", she is still the mother, surrogate, or not.

Which brings up the question, once again: Why was Mary used in the first place?  Surely god could have created his own Earthly avatar, fully formed, without going through the process of knocking up a man's wife?

Yes, and calling her "woman" and not "mother" or even "Mary", is an indicator of being a spiteful little shit.

*emphasis mine*

The short answer is to fulfill the scripture.

Jesus's purpose was to be the 'goel' for mankind.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Goel
Quote:Goel (the Go’el HaDahm) is a Hebrew term which comes from the word lig'ol ("to redeem"), hence meaning "redeemer", which in the Hebrew Bible and the rabbinical tradition denotes a person who as the nearest relative of another is charged with the duty of restoring the rights of another and avenging his wrongs.

Quote:The obligations of the goel include the duty to redeem the relative from slavery, if the latter had been obliged to sell himself into serfdom (Leviticus 25: 48-49); to repurchase the property of a relative who had had to sell it because of poverty; to avenge the blood of his relative; to marry his brother's widow in order to have a son for his brother, in case the brother had not got any son to pass his name forth (Deuteronomy 25:5-6); and to receive the restitution if the injured relative had died (Numbers 5:8).

If Jesus was to redeem all that Adam had lost, then he had to be related to Adam.

@OP, if this happens again, be sure to remind him that the religion that taught him to hate others based on how they were born, also requires him to get his ass whooped for disrespecting his parents.

Fulfill scripture, you say?

Are you aware of the term retcon?
