Nintendo Switch
Nintendo has merged handheld with console in their new system. It makes me wonder, what's going to happen to the DS? Is it just going to be the Switch now, and whatever comes after that? Is the next Pokemon going to be on the Switch? I like having a handheld in case I'm traveling, or something, and I'm not sure I want to get the Switch, or wait for something else.

RE: Nintendo Switch
I have an old school DS lite and all the full consoles but honestly unless they have fixed the bugs in WiiU the handhelds will still be important. I got mad at my WiiU this weekend cause the battery died waaaayyyyy too fast and then it had to go sit on it's charger and I had to wait for enough to juice to at least save my game before letting it fully charge. I can't physically change the batteries and I had to put it on it's dock to charge so I had to stop gaming.

I'm guessing they'll switch to the Switch (hehe), if it is successful enough. Why not, if it works, you know? However, I don't think they'll just toss out the DS like that. They have a lot of users who enjoy the DS who may not even play console games (very small kids, for example). Only time will tell, I guess.

That said, I want a fucking classic. I'm so sick of these fucking scalping pricks buying all of them. I've been waiting for months to get this stupid console.

I heard that the current Pokemon game was going to be ported over to the Switch. They might just treat it like their new handheld system and not bother with making another. I guess it depends on what pulls in more money. Nintendo doesn't seem to think about much else other than that these days.

Why shouldn't they? Pokémon, Zelda, and Mario will keep them wealthy until the apocalypse. Honestly I'm surprised they are trying to bring new stuff to the table at all.

It's important to stay relevant. Sure, they have a gold mine in the classic, but they can make more money by making more systems. To be honest, I'm pretty excited about the Switch. I probably won't buy it, but I think it's pretty innovative.

I don't think it has a long enough battery life to truly replace the 3DS. Apparently, the Switch doesn't last much longer than an hour on the go.

Well, there's the kicker. That's fine for gamers who are old/moneyed enough to bring extra batteries, charging packs, etc., but that's not going to market to parents who want something for a road trip. Nintendo is markets to little kids big time (my three-year-old niece plays Mario games). They have to appeal to parents' needs. To do that, they would have to keep the DS or make the Switch carry a longer battery life.

Hell the WiiU pad doesn't last long enough and that's at home!

Also don't get me wrong I'm a Nintendo girl 100%

My younger self was all about Nintendo, and I still get nostalgic for it. I'm an XBox gal now. I want to buy the fucking classic, but Nintendo needs to get their shit together.
