Evolution Questions

Can I ask you a question?

Why do you think being an atheist means you have to not only understand but clearly explain to a layman complex scientific theories?

If you are truly interested in the process of evolution and the history of life on Earth, I think you should reach for a book written by an actual evolutionary biologist. That should answer any questions you have. You could also just Google scientific papers or articles.

I wasn't going to get involved in this thread, because I like my blood pressure as it is Tongue But this really isn't the right place to look for education... and if your argument was going to be "you can't explain it clearly enough, therefore intelligent design and creationism", then save yourself time - that leap in logic is not going to fly.

Gravity assisted Nuclear fusion did most of the job, I'd say... And it is still lending a hand to keep things going.

Suppose this was 500 years ago. We'd have no concept of big bang, no concept of nuclear fusion, no concept of chemistry, no concept of biology.
Your questions would result in a massive "we, humanity, don't know".
Should we try to answer them regardless of our actual knowledge? Or try to go out and find out what really happened?

Don't feel left out. He hasn't acknowledged anything anyone said. Just like he won't acknowledge this.

Val, if there's a punchline you're building towards, can we cut through the crap and get to it quickly?
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

I can fill in for Val.

"You can't explain it, so... God dun it!"

-or-

"You have faith too!"

That's typically how this goes.

Probably doesn't actually have the intellectual capacity to discuss these topics, and is following some script borrowed from Ray Comfort. I'm open to being positively surprised though.
The fool hath said in his heart, There is a God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.

I believe the OP is not sincere on his purpose. If he truly wanted to understant these things, there is formal education that can provide him the knowledge.

OP, you have been told that atheism leads to science, yes?

It was the invisible spaghetti monster.

Quote:The Spaghetti Monster thought about making things. On the first day, He separated the water from the heavens. However, the Flying Spaghetti Monster soon became tired of flying and treading the waters, so he on the second day, He created land. He made patches of land that divide the waters, and from it sprung beer volcanoes. He spent the next three days creating the Heaven, the stripper factory in heaven, the Earth, the midget called Man, and the rest of the universe- for it was so large- that He got so tired and declared Friday a holiday.

RE: Evolution Questions
Ok long story very short;
aprox 14,000,000,000 years ago Big bang universe comes into existance.
fast forward 10,000,000,000 years and a couple of generations of stars.
4,000,000,000 years ago Solar System forms and life begins as chemical reactions in a geothermal spring.
Then evolution begins...
