AF Biggest Loser/Fitness Challenge-April 1 to May 1

I want to eat everything today. I think it's because it's rainy and shitty outside.

I just try to eat whatever I have, but only buy good things... except for the peanut/peanut butter chocolates and Maltesers... luckily, I have to walk for 30 minutes to get to the store that has those peanut goodies, so I don't go there so often. I've found that I like these (that's a link): So they have become my standard snacking companion at work. At home, I indulge in these: But can't have them every day, or else my gut will be in continuous purge mode, if you get my "flow". So I only get one bag per week, which lasts me for 2 days (one day, when I'm particularly nibbly) On the other days, I nibble on dried fruits, mostly cashew or walnuts, or even banana chips. However, right now, I have Crunchy apple slices. Tasty things to keep your jaw busy and your stomach happy.... and your waistline in check! RE: AF Biggest Loser/Fitness Challenge-April 1 to May 1

Okay, snacks. Fewer the better. Trying not to eat except when hungry but ..
My favorite pick me up snack when I'm at home is a pinch of raisins with a pinch of walnuts. If I know I'm going to stretch the gap between meals and I'll be out, I try to bring a nice big apple - something special like a Pink Lady or Jazz. But the place I really waste calories is cookies with tea, which I have several times a day. (I don't use any sugar but I prefer half and half so not so cheap calorie wise.) I've got ones that aren't too special (and are very low cal) lying around so that they'll just suffice, not be something I hanker for. For that kind of foolishness I walk to the local coffee shop and get one their big peanut butter cookies or a banana & chocolate chip scone along with a cup of coffee. (I do better with coffee since I prefer it black.) Even with the mediocre cookies I try to practice mindful eating so I'll usually just have three thin wafers but take tiny bites and really tune into the flavor to stretch them out over the whole cup of tea. Boy Shell, if I was a writer I'd have such a hard time controlling my snacking. My hat is off to you. When I was teaching and had a bag of exams to get through I was really bad about using snacks as rewards. (April 6, 2017 at 4:39 pm)Brian37 Wrote: I got you all beat, I lost my mind. We love Pink Lady apples. We also love Grapples, which is a real thing
So I had my job interview on Tuesday and somehow I managed to pull a muscle in my lower back afterwards. I have been forced to get my cane out and use it. I hate that thing and there seems to be no relief in sight at the moment so I can't do much of anything right now. Disclaimer: I am only responsible for what I say, not what you choose to understand.

I was having back spasms the other day, but they went away fast, thank goodness. Hate back spasms. Whateverist, I work directly next to my kitchen. We have a seriously comfortable couch that I prefer to the office, so I'm in "snack zone" all day long. I go in the kitchen for a water and want a snack. I go do dishes, want a snack. It's ridiculous.
I like it when the wind doesn't counter my movement... but not when I come across people on the path...
Going in, I used the 5th for a while, but mostly 8th. Awwwww riiiiiiiight it's going... well, not good. This week was crazy at work and as such I had very little time to myself, and that means very little time to prepare healthy things. So I grabbed a lot of prepackaged not-as-good-for-you things. But next week's looking much better! starting today!

Don't worry, my friend. If this be the end, then so shall it be.
Pre-packaged things that aren't so bad for you:
Veggie chips-the eat your veggies brand sea salt and lime if fucking awesome. Protein packs-a few brands make these. They usually have some cheese, raisins and lean meat. SmartMade by Smart Ones and Luvo microwave dinners. Pricey, but coupons are easy to find. Don't eat evol. They taste like shit. RE: AF Biggest Loser/Fitness Challenge-April 1 to May 1

Just got some good news. I was about to get in the shower and thought why not weigh myself. But I couldn't read it without the glasses. Came back and it reads 185. I weighed 187 the last time I checked when I think I reported it here in this thread, but that was probably a couple weeks ago. Here I didn't feel like I was doing so well. I'll take it.
One thing that is helping me maintain is never overeating. I'm always controlling portions. I measure out a cup of oatmeal in the morning and never cook more than a quarter pound apiece of any kind of meat. In fact the last two days I had pasta three times - dinner the first day and then both lunch and dinner the next day. The place next door makes their own fresh pasta and don't even cut it up until you tell them what type you want. They also make their own sauces and our favorite is the olive tapenade which they make with kalamatas. That shit is so good you can mix the tiny container it comes into an entire pound of the pasta and the flavor is still great. Between that and getting an afternoon pastry with coffee most days lately I figured I would be screwed at the weigh in but nope. Lia says it's probably because I've been doing so much physical work in the garden lately. I think she is right. |
