I think the ire of the OP would be far better directed at the people who are causing the problems, not at the people who are, however misguided, at least attempting to ameliorate the suffering to some small degree.
Maybe take a poke at the oil companies ravaging the Nigerian delta, or the diamond exporters, or maybe the pope and his cronies for teaching that condom use is evil.
Nah. Celebrities make prettier targets, even when they are making a small misguided attempt to help.
And we'll all completely overlook the fact that Madonna has actually helped someone instead of just grandstanding on an internet forum.

I usually identify as left leaning on many issues, but the socialists/communists I encounter are often the least flexible minds (worse than religious people) capable of little more than obfuscating and pretentious jargon and mindless repetition of party lines. They are regularly among the most annoying debaters and writers. Fred is an example, not actually capable of making any actual argument or reacting to any actual points that are made. Once it is decided that Madonna is a capitalist, once that is settled, the communist can comfortably switch off their brain again.
