Was that expensive? Been thinking about trying to trace my 'birth grandparents' (my dad is adopted) and can't get the necessary details from him to trace via the usual agencies so looking at getting on a genetics database somehow.

About $100 if you don't opt for the health assessment. I don't think it would be much help for what you're looking for though. To get something like that you would have to have a close relative in their database. Closest they have for me is a bunch of 3rd plus cousins.

@popeyespappy thanks for that info, I'm gonna order a couple of those test kits I think.

As to the poll question, as the family history goes, Mom's side of the family is of English descent who emigrated to the US via Canada, but Dad's is not, and as I've never set foot in the UK, I'm gonna have to say no.

Well, I'm 'Murican.  Unfortunately.
Particularly now that Hair Gropenfuhrer is our ignoble not-leader, I'm really irritated at my ancestor William for getting on a boat in Liverpool and hopping the pond.  Idiot.

My Ancestry DNA says I'm 96% British Isles.  I sunburn under florescent lights, I'm legit.  You could help me get rid of this hideous American accent.    Tongue
