While I agree that your argument is reasonable I don't see why there's a rush to shut a conversation down so fast.

I'm not saying I personally want to continue talking about the subject very much. I mostly said what I wanted to say as far as I can tell for now.

But other people might want to talk about topics that branch off from the subjet, or have something more to say in disagreement with you, or spot some other nuance in the subject.

And I'm saying this as someone who is pretty much leaning towards agreeing with you on the topic though I'm just not as certain with my conclusions as you are.

Are you ready for the fire? We are firemen. WE ARE FIREMEN! The heat doesn’t bother us. We live in the heat. We train in the heat. It tells us that we’re ready, we’re at home, we’re where we’re supposed to be. Flames don’t intimidate us. What do we do? We control the flame. We control them. We move the flames where we want to. And then we extinguish them.

Impersonation is treason.

Nope. You can't declare anything dead. I'm going to keep talking about it because I feel like it.

No one was trying to say people shouldn't talk about this. But the response does seem to be trans people should put up and shut up about yet another thread by people untouched by these issues discussing what trans people should and should not be able to do.

For what other minority is this acceptable?

It depends what you mean by put up with.  But no one is saying trans people should shut up, pretty much the exact opposite. Anyone is free to argue their point.  Also I imagine the rules make it acceptable for people to create threads about what majorities or minorities can or cannot do.

At the moment this topic is relevant because there's promenant sports personalities who disagree with trans women competing against other women.

Indeed I never said people should not be allowed to talk about it .LET ME REPEAT THAT I NEVER SAID THAT!!! . I said the subject is dead. Because science and scholarship in general  has already ruled on the side of Trans . The opposition has had there say . It's as pointless as arguing the shape of the earth at this point . As for the opinion of athletes there free to leave . But let me repeat this so it gets through. NEVER said there should be a rule against it.

Topic clearly isn't dead, but your boring repetition of such is.

So, people shouldn't say that trans folk should have to deal with us talking about certain limitations regarding sports (which are fucking sports, not some innate right) and fuck the women who could be affected by this? Get over yourselves. You're as untouched by it as the next person, but yet you want to white knight the shit out of the trans community so you can be as PC as possible. Tough titty. We're still talking about it, and you're still interrupting.

Don't make assumptions about white knighting. Very few trans people are out even on forums and some people have relatives or loved ones which are trans. They still have a right to complain about the multiple tbreads where others discuss what limits should be imposed on their lives. So don't tell trans people and friends not to complain while complaining yourself that they can't tell you what you can talk about. It makes you a hypocrite.

Sorry, I agree, I was responding to Shell B who is telling trans people and friends to put up and shut up while complaining herself about being denied a voice.

What makes you think the next person isn't trans, or a close family member of someone who is trans?
