Try a flamethrower, that should do it (especially after alcohol and acetone)

Rubbing alcohol did it just fine.
I was a little worried, there are several markers in the mug, and I was afraid I might have used the permanent laundry marker. And it's even more embarrassing when I realize I have had some material science classes over the years . . . . The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.
I'd suggest using a green scrubbing pad next time.
