What does he say/sing at the end that provokes such a reaction, and why is everyone cheering but that lady?

It's not that I find them pointless. It's that they've been so over-used in metal that they've been rendered cliche. It's like pop songs about a break-up or how special a girl is. I just feel like if you're still using anti-religious themes in metal in this day and age, you're basically saying, "I have nothing original to add." Music should be about growing yourself as an artist and taking it to new places, not relying on old gags that have been around since the 70's.

And actually, I find a lot of the anti-religion themes here have become cliche too. I can only see that "Jesus Fucking Christ" meme so many times before it's just not funny anymore.

Meh, the thing about a style of music, you have all that competition the sounds start overlapping.

I don't care about style, even within the same band, outside a song or too, I find most who don't get to the top end up having most their songs sound over lapping. Her voice I have heard from countless death metal.

And even with big bands like Rush and Pink Floyd, even with them some of their songs sound like they need no break between them.

Ultimately in any style, rap, metal, country, pop, jazz, the individual artist/band if they want long staying power have to change from song to song note to note to enough of a degree on top of sounding enough difference to stand out against similar bands.

I think Metallica did that. I think Pat Benatar did that moreso from album to album. It's really tough to stand out if you are doing something lots of others are already doing. I like thrash metal, but just like any other music, the competition is always fierce.

Outside that, I think she looks fine, her voice is pretty standard for that style, but her looks, don't see any problem there.

Meh, Leo does it better, and he can actually sing...

The reaction is just because he actually tries to sing the last line instead of growling it. It's "The cold never bothered me anyway."

(Don't hate me for knowing that. Anyone that had a child between 2 and 10 years old when that movie was released has that song seared into their memory.)

I guess doing songs from Frozen with Black Metal vocals makes sense on some level Smile

Not a huge metal fan, but there are some bands I can tolerate. I recently discovered Skillet. I really like their tracked "Feel Invincible" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C0PYn2pxAUs

There is only one song I can stand that is metal. Disturbed's Down with the sickness.

Outside of that, I hate screaming death metal.

Not all metal is screaming death metal though. Also, Distirbed isn't.

Well, by my standards it seems to be too much for my ears to handle.
I take pride in my singing, as years ago, I won several karaoke contests. These "singers" today that scream, aren't singing. It's screaming.
