You could pick a person at random from the online whitepages who would almost certainly be a better President than Trump.  As for the bomb, yes, if you are standing under it, you're toast; 1,000 feet underground, I doubt that you would even notice or feel it.
1000 feet underground...wtf do you think they're doing down there, mining for salt, lol?

What do you think the penetrative ability of the munition is?  We've established that you thinks it's less than 1k feet....and you know what, it probably is, lol...but there seems to be alot of room between 1000 and 60, for example.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

Some people in this thread have claimed the bomb detonated 100ft in the air. I don't think that's accurate. The media have been consistently reporting that it detonated only 6ft above the ground:

No, I was using "1000 feet" just as an example; we all agree on that!  But, point is, that you can dig a tunnel pretty deep!  Just consider the Mexican drug cartels:

If true, where's the crater?  I live just north of the "Show Me State", and so, let's see some pics!

Fresh off the wire:

Quote:The initial toll given by Afghan officials for Thursday's strike was 36. A statement released Friday through ISIS' media wing, Amaq News Agency, said none of the terror group's fighters were killed or injured. CNN cannot independently confirm the number of casualties.

And, so, who's lying and who's telling the truth?  They can't both be right, of course!

My position is that the bomb did not kill anyone; I think that the Afghan government is lying.  Why?  Because ISIS is too smart not to dig tunnels too deep.

They were soapstone mines that ISIS took over. You really aren't up for this. "too smart not to dig tunnels too deep." Was that a flow of consciousness thing? ISIS didn't dig anything.

Okay, read the CNN article -- ISIS is capable of digging.

Have any photos even been released yet? Why are you questioning where the crater is?

You can watch a video of the bomb being dropped and exploding, though it's night vision I believe.

RE: I don't think that the MOAB killed anyone.
Quick question: What do you call a mine that closed on both ends?

A grave.

The MOAB was meant to collapse the mine entrances and seal up the mines. Appears to have done that quite well.

Arab citizens of Israel don't have the same rights as Jewish citizens of Israel, if you immigrate into Israel you get more rights quicker if you are jewish than if you are any other religion. If that's not racist, nothing is.

I consider Israel genocidal because of what it is doing in the lands of Palestine it has occupied since 1967, and what it does to non-jewish citizens of Israel when it wants to displace them from their lands and give it to jewish citizens.

I consider Israel near-dictatorial because it is getting harder for those who dissent from the idea of Eretz Ysrael to have their voices heard, from loss of funding, vicious and pervasive online bullying, official obstructionism and censorship. When two former heads of Shin Bet (itself not known for being too enamoured of democracy or the rule of law) come out and condemn Netenyahoo's current government for instituting a creeping dictatorship, you bet your arse I am paying attention.

I have my own criticisms of the Israeli government too, it certainly isn't perfect but I support still Israel, a fairly secular but still firmly Jewish state. Why do you support this so-called Palestine, a "state" of Islamic extremism and anti-Semitism?

The two state solution is the way forward, as long as Palestinians stop their anti-Semitic, anti-Israeli rhetoric. Israel has the right to exist and it will always exist even if it has to fight for its survival.
