Oh, the good old days. I wonder what happened to candy cigarettes? Big Grin

They still exist... they just dropped cigarettes from the title for obvious reasons... they're just called 'Candy Sticks' now, but still in a little box shaped like a cigarette pack. They're one of my favourite sweets, and thankfully, no different (that I can tell) in taste or texture from how they used to be. I bought some relatively recently online for old times sake... and there you can get them by the proverbial carton Wink:

It's a function of being a large country; when serving a huge population, the pressure to approach the lowest common denominator and maximize profit is nigh inexorable.

This.

Hi Thump

I've been in downtown Hershey once. Very cute little settlement it is. Very All-American place to start a family.  Never made it to HersheyPark though (I had something to do in Harrisburg that day). I do like Hershey Chocolate, though. Maybe it's just that bias in favor of Pennsylvania that I cultivated while living there.

Jawbreakers are something I remember from my youth, but today, with my disability, I recognize them as just a choking hazard. I'll pass. I remember, in particular, those Everlasting Gobstoppers, which I think were white with colorful splatter dye. In fact, I think the rest of the Anglophone world calls them gobstoppers.

Yabut, did you drive down Hershey Highway?

(Sorry, couldn't help myself. I'll show myself the door.)

Door's locked!

I have taken the scenic route down Hershey Highway. I remember one beautiful vehicle that had a bumper sticker which read : "If you can read this you're riding my ass!"

Now I will unlock the door so we can both leave.

Thanks asshole.  Tongue I just got done telling everyone here where on the doll Casper touched me, now I have to go back to my therapist. Yes please unlock the door, I WANT OUT! Big Grin

I am sure you also took the "Purple Crown Cab" there too. I had a sneaking feeling that as soon as I read "Hershey" someone would bring that old joke up.

I could lie and say it was a '67 Mustang but I was driving a '59 Nash Rambler.
