They're one of my favourite sweets, and thankfully, no different (that I can tell) in taste or texture from how they used to be. I've been in downtown Hershey once. Very cute little settlement it is. Very All-American place to start a family. Never made it to HersheyPark though (I had something to do in Harrisburg that day). I do like Hershey Chocolate, though. Maybe it's just that bias in favor of Pennsylvania that I cultivated while living there.
Jawbreakers are something I remember from my youth, but today, with my disability, I recognize them as just a choking hazard. I'll pass. I remember, in particular, those Everlasting Gobstoppers, which I think were white with colorful splatter dye. In fact, I think the rest of the Anglophone world calls them gobstoppers.
