John Oliver Discusses The French Election

RE: John Oliver Discusses The French Election
Islamophilia demands a heavy price.

Seriously, I'm "out of character" on this one. We on the left (on both sides of the Atlantic) are paying dearly for treating Islam as a sacred cow.

Right wing victories in elections are one of many installments.

When will we ever learn?

When you elect an idiot like Jeremy Corbyn as leader of the Labour Party, it's really no surprise that the left are pretty much dead over here.

I think that Labour will eventually split with the more sensible members forming their own party and they might just get my vote when that eventually happens.

You have nobody but yourselves to blame. Instead of ranting and raving about everyone being right-wing racists, sort your party out and you might actually attract more supporters. I certainly wouldn't vote Labour in its current state with its current leader(s).

You speak like someone who has not encountered the sudden and rather dramatic rise of right wing racists. Its been really noticeable with people who I thought were reasonable saying absolutely awful things which they never used to. Its like the world took at turn for the worse and you can point to the day it started, the day England voted brexit. Since then nothing has gone well, just horror.

When populism and fear mongering get over reasonable actions to solve a problem is worrying. It is also worrying that its not the first time this happens in this continent.

This time there is an orange ape over the pound. Shit gets better and better.
