Going to poker nights twice a week and also volunteering once a week. And I may end up doing poker 3 nights a week in time, we shall see. Smile

I'd also say I'm doing better than ever. I've been marginally happier in the past but overall I'd say this is better than ever because I'm almost as happy and I'm also healthier.

Good on you, Hammy! I should probably take a cue from you and socialize more myself.

Thanks Whateverist. After some big initial changes I've gradually got it more and more clean and low calorie, to the point where now it's about the same calories that a man of average weight would eat.

By the way, an update. My scale is indeed broken.
I'm thinking about getting a new one. But sadly, I can't say just how much weight I've lossed...

It is 100% an indication! I've heard waist size is much more indicative of progress than weight, so bravo!

Two notches is awesome!
Just keep in mind that your body will reach a new equilibrium point and that will probably be before you're totally happy with the results... when that time comes, a new change will be necessary.
My point being, don't be discouraged when you stop seeing changes from all the effort you're putting in. Wink

I gained 3 pounds, but fat/muscle ratio is still 10% (was 10% when I was 3 pounds less as well).

MK, it's normal to go up a bit when you're dieting. The body does all kinds of weird things. You'd think it would be a steady decline, but it isn't. Also, I can drink a water and gain three pounds.

I gained weight. It doesn't show on the scale, but I can tell. I started covering up my arms. Bad sign. I have been going out of town quite a bit and eating in restaurants (whatever seems delicious) and drinking heavy beer.

I decided I need to have a new plan. Simply going back to my old cardio and unimpressive work out routine won't cut it, because I'm bored with it and like food and beer too much.

So... after a change in schedule at work for other reasons, I got a personal trainer to help me work out in the mornings. I work best under pressure. Also, I'll stick to the lean foods on the menu. I won't drop beer, though. I know I won't. I'll just stop drinking on work days.
