4 days short of 6 months post-op, I thought I'd post an update.
I'm holding steady between 205 and 207. I'm pretty happy where I'm at but I am going to do a 'reset', doing the high protein partial liquid diet for long ebough to knock out another 15 pounds or so.
I'm not dieting per se, but I am focusing on eating and drinking sensibly. I can eat about a half a sandwich, or a piece of toast and an egg or the equivalent at a time - about 200 calories per meal.
I can touch my knees to my forehead. I can jog up several flights of stairs without becoming fatigued or winded. I can run. I can feel my ribs. The prominence of my xiphoid is alarming LOL. I can see my veins and muscles. I have much more confidence and no longer attempt to avoid being noticed. I'm happy. I need to wear a belt to hold up size 33 pants, except my CK slim jeans. I was a 54. My primary physician wears a 36. I expect he'll stop bugging me about my weight.
I've developed chronic acid reflux and am going to be on omeprozol. Small price to pay. I have lost some lean mass, and I am not as strong as I was, and my core strength is shit. Small price to pay. I'll start doing strength building exercise.
My wife and I went backpack camping for the first time since I had a pulmonary embolism in 2011. I intend to resume scuba diving this year.
I'm healthy, happy, and I look good.

I'm so happy for you. It sounds like you've had a ton of positive changes, enough to make it all worth it.

Tiberius and I started a challenge today to workout every single day for the next month. Two days down. We're sore as all hell from digging out a massive garden in our yard today, but I hope we can pound out another workout tomorrow in spite of it.
Hope everyone's feeling healthy.

I posted this elsewhere but for posterity I reached my weight goal of 200 pounds (90 kilos) a few days ago. It's been a long, long road but oh so worth it. Health, self-image, confidence - all have greatly improved. I haven't been this weight since I was a teen, and I'm ten pounds below my military weight.

We historically do a wide array of exercise when we get the chance. We're even considering joining a water aerobics class with some seniors for the fun of it.
Right now, the challenge is all about calisthenics. We're doing things like planks, plank dips, squats, burpees (may they burn in hell), single-leg deadlifts, mountain climbers, etc. Usually multiple five-minute rotations of a few exercises in rapid succession, then stretching, etc.

I'll take them over burpees or bear crawls any day.

I last posted on here around the same time I was going psychotic on my diet probably triggered at least in part by some volatile drama I was going through with a girl.
I met someone I really like a lot and predictably I've put on weight, she has a nice body but she's far from a fitness freak and I've mellowed a lot with my fitness obsession and pretty much had full weeks of a relaxed diet with treats and just sporadic fasting and going harsh with my diet every day or so I can be bothered. Plus she has a playstation and call of duty and my god I forgot how good that game is.
My body doesn't look insanely different yet, I've still kept a fairly decent muscle tone, I'll be able to keep things going one way or another, I'm not the kind of person who will turn fat without a furious fight.
I wanted to have a fit looking body for the beaches when I go to the Philippines but I don't have that sort of angry, horny, psycho focus I had a few months back. I don't want to be single again at all but it's to keep up hard motivation when you're feeling happy and soft. I'm still going to the gym, I'm still eating my chickpeas, pinto beans and usual veg. I'm not completely out of the fitness game.
Are you ready for the fire? We are firemen. WE ARE FIREMEN! The heat doesn’t bother us. We live in the heat. We train in the heat. It tells us that we’re ready, we’re at home, we’re where we’re supposed to be. Flames don’t intimidate us. What do we do? We control the flame. We control them. We move the flames where we want to. And then we extinguish them.
Impersonation is treason.

Relationships do make it hard to diet and exercise. It's rare when both people want to eat something healthy and have a workout, but you want to do things together, so the compromise is often to relax and eat junk. There's also the happy laziness aspect of it. Still, I'd take being soft over being lonely any day.
