There was talk of President Bush appointing a special prosecutor during his term to start building a case for impeaching Hillary in anticipation of her winning instead of Obama in 2008.
Too bad a Trump win possibility wasn't acknowledged until 11/8/16, a savvy Dem committee could have been building a case all thru the lengthy and bloody republican primary season starting with fresh leads from all the other vanquished candidates staffers.
The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.

Look, the investigation is what Trump admitted to trying to interfere with, by both asking the FBI director to back off then firing him for not backing off. No one even forced the incompetent boob to make these admissions while throwing his own staff (lying to protect him) under the bus. Following that up with inviting Russian spies to the Oval office with Russian Media on hand and barring American media is off the incompetence scale even for the nitwit Trump, nevermind not taking Obama's advice to not hire Flynn in the first place.
Think about this, the only person with transcripts of a conversation IN THE OVAL OFFICE is ... Vladimir Putin.  Nice one Donny.
