It does piss me off that we are giving Saudi Arabia 110billion dollars while Trump and GOP are threatening to gut 800 bilion in Medicaid here over a decade.
If you want to make it about money, I agree, but that is what all religions do, the powers in the east and west use it to divide their populations and divide nations. But it still remains the west has far more freedom for it's citizens as imperfect as we are, than Saudi Arabia. I fear for your safety every day.
All religions in our species ENTIRE history have produced rival sub sects and caused divisions to greater or lesser degrees and the wealth of a given time has found that it is very easy to convince their populations to support them by using it. The only difference between the east and the west is that the west has done a better job keeping religion from becoming a monopoly. That is not to say the west's history is squeaky clean, but just that we have had a longer period of protecting pluralism. You would not know that looking at today's GOP and the rise of Mien Drumpf.
I want Trump out of office as soon as possible. But no, your ruling family is still a dictatorship and still uses religion to control the masses regardless.

Saudi Arabia is just a tool; just like Trump. Atlas, I think the powers that be here want a state in Syria that's servile to the U.S. I don't think that will happen.
I don't know that much about Yemen in detail but I'm concerned by the humanitarian crisis.
Trump is definitely a tool. The establishment just has to pat him on the back and take him out for ice cream and he'll sign anything they want. Next will be net neutrality. What a phony.
