Nobody likes their car stolen, but NO JUST NO..

RE: Nobody likes their car stolen, but NO JUST NO..
maybe she found herself enamored of the thug and wished to flee her humdrum existence and start a new life in the world of crime ?
The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.

"It's always nice to know how a person will react in an emergency." This lady shouldn't be in charge of children or animals.

Thank you for posting that link. EVEN SHE says in the story that was DANGEROUS and really not the wisest thing to do.

I am sure she reported it or someone at the gas station did, the cops came to take the report, and I am quite sure any sane cop lectured her.

There is no shame in giving up an object even when it is no fault of your own. That is why we have police.

Criminals the vast majority of the time simply want the object. Confronting someone you don't know raises the risk of injury or death.

You can see better in the article's video how after all of it happens she melts down against her car in the middle of the road. I think the stupidity of what she had just done finally hit her.

I really do think humans take really needless risks far too much, and our WWE tough guy marketing unfortunately works to some degree. Real life doesn't always meet up with your intent. If there had been a child in the car, that would be more understandable. But no, I would have let him take it and called the police.

She was lucky he wasn't totally heartless and lucky he didn't use a weapon on her.

I have heard on news and TV interviews with criminals who hurt someone, and any cop will tell you most of the time the criminal says "I wouldn't have done that if they had not resisted".

No that is not victim blaming on my part. It is simply pointing out the math. Someone hurts you in any crime they are ALWAYS WRONG. But in surviving it isn't fight or flight but what works and what works most of the time is being non confrontational.

My advice, unless your profession is protecting the public leave that shit to the police. Unless you absolutely know your life is in direct danger and it is only the object they want, let them have it, the object can be replaced.

Yeah if there was a kid in the car it would be another story. Literally just the other day I saw an article that was also about a car jacking and there was a child in the back... they found that poor little boy dead later. Sad

I can speak from experience, not on carjacking, but trying to jump back into my van when I left it in reverse and forgot and stepped out. It took off on me, I tried grabbing the wheel to pull myself back in. Nope it ain't Hollywood. The van drug me. I was lucky because all it did was loop around an everyone saw it coming so they stopped. Nobody got hurt. But no, I will never do that again.

I got scrapes but could have gotten myself run over by my own vehicle.

This lady was lucky that the carjacker had some sense, but she was stupid. What if he had had a weapon, or what if he had speed up? I think Mythbusters did a episode where they did the hood thing, and no, not even the strongest man can hang on at high speeds. You see a stunt person in a TV show or movie do that, it is rigged and they are strapped on.

You never jumped out of a moving train? It's a life experience.

Moving train?

How about a moving plane?

Yea, in that case you'd be right for trying. I hope they find that fucker.

I saw a video of a famous car chase where the carjacker dumped the baby in the car seat out the door, that was fucking sick. I am quite sure he didn't have a fun time in prison.

Even with issues of getting into a war, or being a police officer, I would never want anyone taking that job thinking it is all about kicking ass and Gung Ho revenge. In the real world taking any dangerous job on requires stress control and training which most laypeople dont have or even understand.

I understand her emotional reaction and anger sure, but she really could have gotten seriously hurt or died.

BTW, the perp seemed rather inept at his craft. Would there be some remedial class or some counseling to help match up his skill set with an MO that is a better fit ?
