RE: Share Your Weird Dreams

I used to have a recurring dream about being in a strange house; it was always a different and elaborate house each time. I haven't had that dream in a few years, though.
After lying awake last night thinking about a problem I'm having, I fell asleep and had a strange dream about being dressed only in a nightie and needing help for some reason I couldn't identify. I walked up a long staircase to someone's home that I used to live in and I knew the people in the home but, no dice, they wouldn't open the door for me. Not so strange, I suppose, considering the thoughts and feelings I was having just before falling asleep.

If anyone is interested, I actually posted one of my weird dreams in another thread (post#27). Here it is:
Kernel Sohcahtoa Wrote:When I was about seven, I had a dream where I was a soldier lying on a battlefield located in some desert, beach, island, etc. It was night time and the sky was being illuminated by weapons fire. In the background I could here garbled transmissions from the radio which was part of a jeep (or some kind of similar vehicle) that was near by. I could also hear the distant sound of soldiers' feet marching through the white sand along with the muffled cadences of their voices. From that point on, the dream was just me staring up at the sky as if I had a birds-eye view of myself and what was transpiring around me. As I continued to lay on the ground, my vision grew more distant, and as it slowly began to fade away, my dream ended.
Edit. I've had some technical difficulties with this post. For some reason there is an extraneous link at the bottom and the text was originally blue. My apologies for the inconvenience.

I know that I dream regularly, but I rarely remember my dreams.
My favorites are the ones where I know I am dreaming and I can control precisely what I am doing in the dreams. The dreams where I fly are particularly fun.
This morning, however, I had a different type of dream.
It involved the old double wide trailer in the small town community where my grandparents lived before they sold the place to move to the country. My grandmother died of cancer some time ago.
The dream was of me and my sister back in that trailer. I was looking for my cat when I noticed that drawers and cabinet doors were open. I went to close them, thinking my sister had left them open. First, I looked inside them to make certain my cat was not hiding in them.
The dining room is connected to the kitchen and suddenly cabinet doors and drawers begin to open seemingly of their own volition and things begin to fly around. I am standing between the kitchen and dining room while my sister is sitting at the dining room table. I look over at her and ask, "Do you think it's grandma?"
Then I woke up.

So I'm at the end of my shift at my summer job and for some reason my boss decides he's going to give me a ride home. Dream Me doesn't find anything weird about that, so I get in his truck. Then he says he forgot something, so he runs back into our break room to grab it. Suddenly the doors close, the truck starts, and the vehicle starts driving itself out of the parking lot. I'm kind of just sitting there awestruck by the fact that I'm being held hostage by a self-driving car. It drives me a good few miles before it starts to swerve, almost hitting other cars until it finally zooms through a red light and smashes into a pole.
I'm fine, but I notice a cop car in the rear view mirror. I think to myself, "Great. He's not going to believe this car just drove itself 4 miles. He's going to assume I just did all that." So I grabbed a hammer (from...somewhere...?) and smashed the shit out of my leg and made it look like I got hit by the car. So the cop gets out of the car and for some reason he shoots me in the face... This, however, does not phase me at all. Like, I see the bullet come at me and then the cop just goes, "Oh, sorry," and the dream continues like nothing happened.
So now we fast forward to the police precinct which happens to be built on the water. I get there and my boss is very angry, obviously thinking that I stole his truck. I was still sticking to the "I got ran over" story, which, in hindsight, was a pretty shitty alibi, but it was working. The police brought me out to the bay and said, "Okay. If you're afraid of the water, you're not guilty." Dream Me did not find that weird. And of course, what do I do? I pretend to be afraid of the water! Not guilty! Open and shut case. And instead of staying mad at me, my boss apologized and gave me a DVD of Kindergarten Cop. All in all a good day.
I love bizarre dreams like that. I once dreamed I was shot too, but it really hurt. It turns out, I was sleeping on my shoulder weird and it was killing me. The pain made it into the dream.

Sounded pretty legit, but you lost me at Kindergarten Cop.
Honestly, given the dreams I have, that wouldn't at all throw me off.

Holy shit I had a crazy dream last night. So, I'm excited for IT to come out, and we watched the latest King Kong film last night, which has these skullwalker things in it. Oh, and Vorlon mentioned a show named Carnivale to me the other day. I wrote it on our t.v. show list, which must have made it stick in my head.
So, in the dream, Tibs and I are driving in this sort of rural hub. We got to a shooting range, which my brain tells me is the one I was a regular at when I lived in Washington. It doesn't look anything like it, though. The range itself looks like a gymnastics gym with blue pads all over the floor. There are no lanes. Just a bunch of people standing in a row shooting at targets on the wall. (How there is still a wall is beyond my sleeping brain) This makes me very nervous, so I tell Tibs we have to go. We go to the lady to pay for our range time. For some reason, I'm carrying a shitload of random stuff, such as blankets, and I'm annoyed that I have to bring it all out to the car.
It's at this point that there seems to be something dark going on. There are a few women sitting in chairs near the gun case. One of them is something not what she looks like she is. My sleeping brain knows she's some sort of demon. (For some reason, the skullwalkers from the movie morphed into human-sized things that possess people just for my dream. Yay!) We decide to leave fast. As I'm leaving, I look at a mirror on the wall. Pennywise pops up behind me in the mirror. I get the fuck out fast.
We're driving out of town. It looks like it is one old-school night carnival with fortune telling booths, etc. I ask a local if it's any good. Turns out it's called Carnivale (lol) and she urges me not to go. Skullwalker people are everywhere. I suspect it has something to do with the carnival. Then I wake up.
