lol. Then you were on nr1 on my "Religo scale". You were directed toward religion when you were kid but then when you got informed you left it. You didn't came to a stage when you were emotionally involved in it. That's why as people age and go trough life and with it's traumatic stresses they cling more and more to a religion believing in crazier and crazier stuff just to numb themselves more. As people addicted to drug need more and more of it.
Interesting enough there was just an episode on Dr. Phil about a very Catholic family in which they have a very dominant mother that is really heavily involved in religion that she even booted out her own daughter out of the family because she voted for Hillary. And, as episode progresses, it is revealed that all that Catholicism is just a manifestation of much greater problem and that it serves to cover serious psychological traumas that mother went trough.
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"
