Your circular logic has me reaching for a dramamine.

Yeah, and there's a 1.5 billion Muslims that claim the same about the Quran. And here I am, outside both of your belief systems with no way to tell who is right.

The Muslims.

There must be something in it when a lot of followers are willing to blow themselves up.

Right?

Right?

I don't know.

Unitism, the religion I discovered/ created myself, promises you much less hassle than 40 virgins after death.
Think of constant bless of 40 experienced prosititutes, times infinity.

That's discrimination!

What about those of us who will be barbequed and will have no grave?

Tongue

But yeah, I'd rather be playing D&D than praising a certain evil being.

I sincerely believed first, at a young age, but even then I never felt any special divine presence. I sought answers as I grew old enough to ask the questions, but there was only silence (or poor logic, if I asked clergy i stead of using prayer).

Considering my former devoutness, I do get tired of hearing how it must be our fault. Even if others like the op are closed off to the idea from the beginning, no one can demonstrate that as a choice....its the way he is and he cannot be any other way. If there is no God, then no biggie. If there is one then who's fault is it, really?

Mark Twain and many other great men and women have asked these same questions. They truly sought hard, and still doubted. I don't see how any loving god would find the act of earnest seeking and disagreement to be the worst sin of all, punishable by an eternity of misery. Bah, it makes no sense.

I'm divinely virgin.

Also, while I got you slippery little suckers, tell us why Allah has not tried to poach you (Christian) to his way of thinking?
Does sweet baby Jesus protect you with a cloaking device so no other god can approach you?
Does he wee on you with his cosmic scent to let the other gods know you're his?

All religions claim that they are the only one true religion?
(I'm not a maths genius, but that makes a lot of true correct religions, wow!)

Doesn't it sound a bit like sleazy used car salesman talk?
Oh well, I suppose there's a sucker born every minute...

May you find true peace in the soft noodly appendages of our father, the mighty FSM.. FSM Sad

(Just had a lovely bowl of pasta with freshly shaved Parmesan cheese and was deeply moved and inspired to send this message in his honour) . Please don't shoot the messenger!

Oooh! I'm slippery! That could be fun.

Wait a minute. Was this a bait and switch? You said "theists" in the title, but the post content is referring to Christians.

I will never-the-less answer your questions.  G-d doesn't reveal himself because you don't need to believe in him. If you needed to believe in him, his existence would be apparent. If you choose to believe in G-d because it will help you in some way, then fine. If you choose not to believe in G-d, that's okay too.

Judaism does not believe it's the only right religion. We believe that all religions or cultures that follow the seven Noahaide laws are "correct." Those cultures that do not follow the seven Noahide laws would be incorrect. *Thinks* I guess any fundamentalist sect that hurts or murders people would fall under the incorrect category.

In pursuit of positive cross cultural relations, I will join you for a bowl of pasta.

I know the theist does not need to start from scratch for their own beliefs.

I was referring to a theist that wants to convince me that their beliefs are true.

You seem to have a bit of a problem comprehending my post. Check out the part I bolded above.

You'd believe if you just opened your heart" is a terrible argument for religion. It's basically saying, "If you bias yourself enough, you can convince yourself that this is true." If religion were true, people wouldn't need faith to believe it -- it would be supported by good evidence.
