My experiences with internet forums

Someone owns it and pays to keep it running.

It's their house, their rules.
I'm cool with that.

This.

You'll find that the staff here is a lot more fair and balanced than many forums where the admins and mods have cart blanche to do whatever they want.

We cannot, for instance, arbitrarily ban someone simply because we don't like them (as much as we'd like to) or for their posts.  There's a lot of discussion that goes on before action is taken (some of it can get quite heated), and the staff are held to account by very clear rules, by the membership (often), and by each other.

Try getting that on many other boards, in particular the religious ones.  I know people who have been banned immediately just for saying they're an atheist.

I see the OP is getting lots of love and respect. Tongue

So, "Mariosep", if you're getting bounced from a lot of forums, where do you think the problem might be? :oneraisedeyebrowemoji:

While I haven't agreed with staff decisions here in the past, they are, staff decisions and I respect the job that they willingly do. For the most part, Beccs is right. They are pretty fair and balanced and I can honestly say that I've never come across another forum that operates this smoothly.

So if we conduct ourselves as the OP recommends, we get to keep Mariosep? Boy, what a stumper.

RE: My experiences with internet forums
Well, thanks a lot for your replies, dear colleagues here.

Today I will talk about posters in forums I have been to.

It is my experience that most posters a very big number of, they are into saying nothing from their very own personal thinking and writing.

I just last week decided to no longer continue in a forum which I had some trouble getting registered in, it is also endowed with the word debate in the title of its website,

By the way, you see, dear atheist colleagues here, I am not talking with atheists in order to save them, but in order to learn from them, but to the present they have not produced any ideas that I find to be intelligent and personally thought up, at all.

Now, back to this forum where I have not been banned but I decided to boycott it; so instead of my being banned as in several forums, with this forum my act is equivalent to banning it from my part.

You see, the first post I wrote in this forum has to do with existence, yes, existence as in the thread I introduced here in this atheist forum when I happened to drop in and found out surprise of surprises, I have not been banned forever notwithstanding the machination of Stimbo.

You see, when I right away submitted a thread in this new for me forum, I was irritated because I did not expect the return message to be like, namely: “Your post will have to be approved prior to release” - something like that.

Anyway, I continued there and read a thread there of mathematicians talking about Maths, so even though I am not a mathematician I submitted a post there, to ask mathematicians whether they know about the conceptival realm and the objectival realm in the world of existence (what other worlds are there, dear atheist colleagues, think carefully now, at least once in your atheist identity life), this time happy surprise of surprises, it came out right away without any pre-notice of pre-approval.

So the following day I looked up the reactions to my post, and I was happy to see two mathematicians who did something different from what all others were doing, since for already three pages, what were they writing about?

Nothing but encomiums on the excellence of math and on and on and on every poster, ne'er saying anything new or different.

That is the kind of posters with you atheist colleagues here, you all say the same things in a thread, because you have no thinking at all, but you just regurgitate slogans and clichés you read from your mentors of evasiveness.

Okay, the two posters who reacted to my post about the conceptival realm and the objectival realm from me, they made a good impression on me, so I took courage to pursue my idea with them, by asking them, as they amazingly turn out to agree with me that when man is no longer around so no more concepts in man's mind, would math still be existing, I ask them 'where' will math be existing, and I sent the post, my second one in that thread on Maths.

You know what, the moderator who was into approving my very first post and first thread there, he got wise to my presence in this thread, and issued right away, the notice that: “This post will be visible upon approval,” something like that.

So I left the forum completely, though two days later when I opened my email box I got the notice in the subject bar, that my posts have been approved for release.

Well, thanks, but no thanks, I am not going back, I have had enough of such forums.

I suggest that such forums should already at the top of their list of dos and donts for candidates to registration, at the top in big fonts this notice: ALL POSTING IN THIS FORUM IS SUBJECT TO PRIOR APPROVAL BEFORE RELEASE.

I said at the start that I was going to talk today about dismal routine of posters, and I end up with saying also something against forum moderating policy, namely, prior approval before release.

Please contribute your experiences with internet forums, just for us all to get them off our breast.

RE: My experiences with internet forums
Well Been a member of several forums never got banned. Sometimes I go to other forums, math & programming or computer hardware forums, occasionally others.

Mariosep, my personal opinion is that you use your vehemently verossimilis verbiage, in a way that you think it warrants respect. It does not.

Brevity being the soul of wit and all that. Sure, alot of words in your posts, very little content to discuss, unless you want to discuss your politeness. You are not being polite.

I'd say this forum has been way more than fair with you. Most places would have you banned months ago for spamming and trolling (and rightly so in my opinion). But you're still a member here, allowed to post your copy/pasta bullshit over any thread you want.
