Imam came out and kept crowd from killing attacker.

Also, the perp is getting a psych eval. If a nut ball, motive might not ever be clear.

The attacker is a 48 year old white guy who said he wanted to kill Muslims. The attacker was also videoed blowing kisses to a crowd from a window where he was being held by authorities. London has been under siege by a rash of terror attacks. This guy's act of murder and his own brand of vigilante justice will be just the recruiting tool that ISIS wants. This is not going to be good for London.
