Whoa. We have new age hippies in Albuquerque? I thought we had them all contained in Santa Fe still. We need to get Trump in here to reinforce that wall before it starts to spread.

For some reason my mind had you in Santa Fe, apologies. All I know about Albuquerque is that's where wrong turns are taken.

That's what happens when you start to inhale the meth-laden atmosphere while passing through. A tornado might actually help things here.
I don't believe you. Get over it.

Make sure they're bonded. Ask for their references, and follow up on them.

I've been considering your neck of the woods but haven't been able to pull the trigger yet, mentally.

We still have room out in earthquake country but you'll have to take a test to be sure you can handle the traffic.  Seriously, give me earthquakes over tornados/hurricanes every day of the week.

I'm pretty sure Albuquerque is the airport suburb of Santa Fe, right?

I put out a blast thru HomeAdvisor for the roof repair. The phone has not stopped ringing (actually only 6 calls). Nice thing is that HA has already screened the contractors (ins coverage, business filings, criminal records, civil cases,....) and given them a rating. Multiple reviews are also there. All local, no storm chasers allowed.

Had one estimate for all of the work that needs to be done and it came in under what insurance estimated. Red Flag?? Got two more on the hook for now. Will have to wait and see what they say.

Edit: Why the fuck can I never proof read my shit??????

Hope it works for you, Brewer. Even with the online screening and reviews, it might still be a good idea to run a google on the companies you're interested in contracting. Death in the family, business going under -- good stuff to know.

Another estimator came by. No appointment, unannounced. Spent all of 15 minutes tops, only 2 to 3 min on the roof, only glanced at the siding and gutter and did not enter the house to see the damage. Stated that the whole roof had to be replaced by law and that their company would fight with my insurance to pay for it. Then said he'd "work with us" to make sure that we wouldn't be out of pocket on the deductible.

His company was one of the higher rated on HomeAdvisor. Guess I'm going to have write a review.

Next!

Don't pay anything until the work is completed to your satisfaction no matter who you hire. Get several estimates and don't tell the others the prices you've gotten, none of their business. The lowest can save money but may not stand behind their work, the highest may be no better, word of mouth is usually the best way to go. Good luck, it's hard when you do not know a contractor personally. Since I do not know where you live I can't help, if it's close to Indianapolis I might.

God loves those who believe and those who do not and the same goes for me, you have no choice in this matter. That puts the matter of total free will to rest.
