Haven't had a song thread in awhile. I'll let you decide. Over play might make some the worst.

OK, don't laugh. Early 80s, Michael Jackson wasn't all that crazy yet and we didn't know how far he was going to ride that one in any regard.
And yeah, in hindsight, this is a pretty creepy song, but when it came out it was great. https://youtu.be/y32ejtuxSjM The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.

One of my favorites:

That was my childhood. I just turned 14 by the end of the decade. I strictly listened to new age/smooth jazz back then, because that's what all the cool kids' parents listened to then. I loved it! I hated the pop and rock kids my age listened to.
Having said that, in the past 5 years or so, I have really embraced 80's pop and...I dunno...punk? Here are a few I like from that era. More to come, I'm sure (I used the YouTube toggle thingy, because I like seeing previews, not just links. YMMV).

lol, Cessna, LiaNT was the first song that popped into my head for best of the 80s -- a beautiful song and arranged so well.
Other songs from the era that are great: "Just Like Heaven" for the Cure "Hold Me Now" from the Thompson Twins Just about all of Appetite for Destruction Rush's "Red Barchetta" "Stray Cat Strut" "Fade to Black" from Metallica "Close to You", Queensryche "Be Near Me", ABC The best metal riff of all time -- "Raining Blood", from Slayer Larry Carlton's "Last Nite" Most of Prince's stuff -- especially "1999" and "Sign o' the Times" (the songs) "Nothin But a Good Time" from Poison Dross from the era: Every other Poison song of the decade Most of Motley Crue Right Said Fred's lone hit "You Spin Me Round" -- I don't know who did that, but I do wish I knew where they lived Joan Jett's "I Love Rock-n-Roll" "Vacation" from the Go-Gos Man, I could go on with both lists.
