Modern nations particularly the United states don't buy territories like that anymore, And considering the people of Greenland have shown no interest in being controlled by the US it makes it more abhorrent .

I wonder, though, if it’s a lack of oil or the skin colour of most of the inhabitants?

Buying Greenland because of the oil is like asking for a longer set of stairs leading up to the gallows.  It's just delaying the inevitable.

1. I own 5 properties and have sold  6 more . I know plenty about making deals . The problem is you have yet to provide any evidence their interested in making any deals.

2. Then you don't know much about gambling because i have yet to see any indication they want to join the US. Alaska isn't Greenland so it doesn't really apply .

3. As for the  it falls apart due to the previous 2 statements
