Old joke:  How was copper wire invented?

Boru

I haven't heard that one in years.

My father always used to tease a Scottish friend with that joke, and the Scot would reply, "Why do seagulls fly upside down over Australia?  Because it's not worth shitting on!"

Q:

Is anything worn under the Scotty skirt ?

A:

No, I can assure you every thing there is in excellent condition.

Why do Scots wear kilts?

Because sheep can hear a zipper at 100 yards.

That's why Kiwi farmers have Velcro gloves and gumboots!

Check out what xtian scholar Candida Moss has to say about this hagiography horseshit.  Also note, his biography was not written until a century after his supposed death.  Hey!  Just like fucking jesus!!!  And fucking mohammed!!!!

Funny how that keeps happening.

What exactly is your point?

You can't be as stupid as this post, can you?

HA HA! That is horrible!  Big Grin I wish my long time friend Bob had not had his stroke, he is in a nursing home long term care now. He'd laugh at it in his lucid state, he is from Queensland.

When Bob would get one up on me in a play tease, and I knew he had me on the ropes I would remind him his country was started as a penal colony.

Same thing with my Japanese X wife, whenever we'd joke and she'd get one up on me, I would remind her we kicked Japan's ass in WW2.

Gotta know your audience though.

Yes, you definitely have to know your audience.

One of my Dad's best friends is an Aborigine and if you heard the banter that goes on between them, without knowing them, you'd thing you had walked into a race war.  Des, the friend, is about a foot and a half taller than Dad, so he calls my dad a "stunted white prick".

It is the same with my redneck friend from Oklahoma. I have known him for 16 years. Biggest liberal you can think of. Voted for both Bernie and Hillary. I can get away with calling him a redneck, but I also understand why he gets pissed at even his fellow liberals who write off the middle of the country.

The first biography of Washington appeared in 1800....a year after his death.  The earliest biography of Lincoln was written while he was still alive during the 1860 campaign.

My point is that you should try not to be a dumbass all your life and face the fact that your fucking bible is fucking bullshit.

Too be fair thou a biography can be written a long time after the life of the individual . It's a matter of the sources used and accuracy of the text to other  non biased independent  sources.

First of all, the amount of time it takes after someones death to write a biography is irrelevant as long as the sources are accurate, which was the point I was making. You act as if we have access to every source writers from antiquity had accesses to...

As to your point about Jesus, the bible only records 3 and half years of his life (not much of a biography is it?) and there was at least one apostle alive (an excellent source) at the time the gospels were written...

So who's the dumbass now?
