Let's be fair, now. (Something the republicunts never do.) The reason there is no public option is because a handful of blue dog democratic senators, all of who were bounced out in the next election anyway by the tea party fucktards, would not allow it. A public option would solve the problem of providing coverage in areas where the private sector did not want to compete.

And that's smart politics, because he can answer any criticism with, "you guys couldn't even put together a plan that could carry your own party."
I don't expect a Democratic plan to pass. Hell, they don't even need to TRY to pass it. Just release it, let analysts take a go at it, and say "Hey, look how we could fix things if you voted us back into the majority." Now's the time. The country's faith in GOP ability to handle healthcare is zilch.

I remember at the time thinking, "Man, Obama should tell Ben Nelson to go fuck himself." "Senator, I understand you don't care for some aspects of this bill, but I can't water them down any more without really harming the intended policy. Now, if you don't want to support this Democrat initiative, I'm not sure why the Democrats should want to support you in your re-election." It wasn't a Republican who held out on approving until the bill got emasculated. It's no coincidence that he was an insurance exec before entering politics. RE: HOLY FUCKING SHIT

If it were just Nelson that might have worked but it was also Landrieu and Pryor and Lieberman and Lincoln. The Democrats know that any plan they put forward will fail, so they are trying to do the best thing for the country and offering to create a bipartisan plan. They've been offering to do it for a long time now. Trump originally said if the Republican plan failed he would be "forced" to work with Democrats, then when it did fail and the Democrats offered to help, Trump and McConnell turned around and said they didn't believe the Democrats wanted to help. I figure maybe some lesser known Republicans might cross the aisle without Ryan / McConnell and try to pass some form of legislation with the Democrats, because McConnell has revealed himself as an incompetent negotiator. LOL, and Senator Paul, how many votes do YOU have for your alternative plan ?????? Ted ?? Senator Collins ?? Senator Moran ?? Senator Lee ??? Common people, where are all these fucking plans, when do we get to see them and where is the fucking support for them ?? The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.
Borowitz.... this guy is brilliant.
