Carbon capture, reforestation, integrated agriculture, planned urban development, environmentally sound building codes, green energy, and "x" (this being any future developments). We, essentially, have to change everything about human civilization. Currently developed countries are, hilariously, the least likely to be successful at this. The future lies in the hands of the third world (and chiefly in africa), assuming we don't kill them all off first. Ironic, imo.

The Russian perma frost is melting releasing methane on a scale that hasn't happen for 130.000 years.

Good article, but it strikes the same defeatist tone. It's not entirely true that there are no engineering solutions, even to the problems of melting permafrost and possible methane bloom...it's just that we're too busy dumping the majority of global gdp on things we seem to think are greater existential threats to engage in the sort of global project that would be required to get proactive - meanwhile, our copnservation efforts appear to be focused on returning earth, in some sense, to what we consider pristine...when they should be focused on re-tasking and re-purposing whatever natural ecology furthers our aim of not dying.
Try some Chris Mckay, Ames Research center, while other people dream of terraforming mars..he's trying to get people to take geo-engineering seriously, and as the only feasible solution to our climate troubles long or short term.

It still snows every winter, it’s cold enough for my balls to jump up and snuggle with my lower intestines when I walk outside in January, any one that has been to south America, Africa, Russia, Europe, and China can attest to the fact that China is 100 times worse than anywhere else but we are more “green”er than we’ve been in the past 100 or so years, and Al Gore doesn’t own a single windmill or solar panel for his houses.
I’m not convinced that it’s anything more than a money making racquet.

OFC there's money in it, there's money in everything. Te be blunt, the money to be made in green this and that is subverting the point of going green in the first place. It was money that made solar dirty, for example. OFC it still snows, why on earth do you think that means anything?

But you have to start in time, ie, not now, decades ago.
A crash program to develop time travel is about the only thing left with a chance of working. And the time machine will have to be big, you're going to need nukes, and a lot of 'em to overthrow all the governments you are going to need to.

If it was that big of a deal, governments around the world would be losing their minds absolutely requiring companies and people to change. There would be no suggestion or recommendation, they would step in and flat require it.
It’s a non-issue and has as much legitimacy as the bible. There’s proof everywhere for people that want to believe it and those that do will always look down on those that don’t.
